Massage a small amount between your palms to create a lather (and good shampoo should produce a good amount so you don't have to use too much product), apply from the scalp to ends, (lightly and gently working the product in with your palms), and then rinse until the water runs clear.
- Unless you're old-school and only wash your hair once a week, or use lots of styling products, it is not necessary to shampoo twice.
- If you have oily hair, do not vigorously rub the shampoo into your scalp believing this will get rid of the excess oil; all that rubbing will actually stimulate the oil glands in your scalp to produce more of what you're trying to wash away.
- If you have a flaky scalp, brush hair from scalp to ends with a natural bristle brush (Mason Pearson brushes are the best) to loosen up flakes prior to shampooing.
