Ballet doesn't have to be dainty. Just look at Thakoon's Fall 2010 show for proof. It took a cue from Le Défilé, a 2007 exhibition showcasing Gaultier's costumes for ballets choreographed by Régine Chopinot.

To put focus on the clothes, makeup was kept soft. Lead artist Diane Kendal, working with Nars, worked with a beautiful palette of neutrals. A filled-in brow was highlighted by gold eye shadow on the brow bones, with a sparkling grayish shadow setting off the matte mushroom hue on the lids. Cheeks were slightly sculpted with Douceur blush (new for fall) and Tashkent lipstick (also new for fall) provided a chalky pink matte hue. If this look is a hint of what's to come from Nars, we're in for a pretty ride.
