Every woman usually gets her first taste of beauty from her mom. And I got more than a taste — more like a heaping spoonful. As a cosmetologist, she cut my hair and let me play with her makeup as a child. But mostly, I remember her holding me in front of the mirror and saying, "Who is that pretty girl in the mirror? Who is it? That's you!" She would always point to my heart when she said it. No matter what, she always told me that I was beautiful on the outside and "in my heart," the place that matters most.
So thanks, Mom, for always being my biggest cheerleader, having a great sense of humor, and showing me the true meaning of beauty.
