Trend Alert: Chalky Lips

While the majority of women at the 2007 Emmy Awards arrived wearing the ever-popular nude lip, or a bold red lip, stars like Rebecca Romijn, Vanessa Williams and Debra Messing chose an even more subdued, matte and chalky lipstick. Do you like this look, and who do you think wore it best?

wow, I definitely think I'll follow this trend.. even though it passed quite a while since it has been posted here. Then again... could someone please suggest me a lipstick and shade which looks this way? I do have lots of nude coloured lipsticks, matte, but they are all creamy... Rouge Interdit being my bi big favorite. 10x

all of them looks tacky. just like a clowns!! there's so huge layer of cosmetics on their faces, that makes me puke... :( YES to natural beauty, NO to made-ups!!!

I didn't realize I was trendy. This is how I look most days if, between dressing my toddler and packing lunches, I even get to put on a lip treatment! Go figure.

I don't like the chalky lips at all. I noticed it in InStyle yesterday and immediately wondered if some of the celebs showed up feeling ill.

Debra looks great. Vanessa's blends in with her skin tone too much, imo.

Debra's is the nicest here. not too pale, and just matte enough. Everyone should try out MAC lipstick, Fleshpot. It has that chalky nude effect.

BellaSugar, what kind of lipstick brand would you reccommend to recreate this chalky lip??? I've been looking for one and I can't find something that looks quite chalky.
