Trend Alert: Short Red Nails

It's not that red nails have ever gone out of style, it's just that the variation of shades and the shape of the nail changes. For example, in the '80s, long pointy nails rocked, and in the '90s, long rounded nails were stylin'. This season, short red nails are red hot! Just check out the digits on trend setters Keri Russell, Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera and Mary-Kate Olsen.

As for color suggestions, you already know what my favorites are—and if you're not into those, there is always the Deborah Lippmann Lady in Red Collection and as well as some past red nail polish picks. Enjoy!

i don't know what my problem is but i can only ever have my fingernails bare or french manicured. i have to stop being so boring because this trend is so cute!

I have always had short nails but i never paint them cause i don't like the way they look so i just end up painting my toe nails but i think i might give it a try and go RED!

Thank god; I'm so sick of dark, long nails. It looks artificial that way. I say the darker the color, the shorter the nail.

I always want to paint my nails, but I'm worried it'll chip or stain them when I'm ready to go back natural. I might still give it a try, it is super cute. I guess I'll have to change my toes from hot pink to red as well...
