Trend Alert: Summer Braids Are All The Rage!

I've done some braid-spotting and by the looks of it, this hairstyle is sticking around for summer! Maybe these young entertainers parallel their lifestyles to the complex and tangled webs they are weaving in their hair. (Or maybe I'm overthinking this a bit.) But since Jessica, Mandy and Lindsay are sporting them, it looks like this trend is here to stay. I thought I'd remind you of my post on how to create your own summertime braids at home. this trend basically happened because the side bang trend is gone, so now the people who had side bangs need a way to cover them up

I know you showed us how to do Jessica's, but in my opinion, it's the ugliest one. Can you guys show us how to get Mandy's look?

I agree, these are NOTHING new! braids has always been the thing, just that more ppl are exposed to them and different varieties, no biggie, especially when ppl go to the Caribbean and get their hair braided, either in cornrow, singles or another style. Jessica's style i see all the time, i even do that do my hair when i'm bored and just put it all in a bun at the back then, the one on the left i've seen that for some years now...especially on tv too, I dont fancy Lindsay's, i'm not one for loose braids/braiding but some styles suit different ppl and different hair textures anyway. :)

looks great on Mandy and Lindsay, especially, but not too sure about Jess... I don't know, the braid stands out a bit awkwardly on her. but anyways, this is tempting me to braid my hair right now. xD

I love Linds braids here, I always hate how I look with messy braids in my hair but I might give this look a try again, it's getting pretty hot here in Texas and having long, straight, thick hair is the worst! So I'm always looking for ways to keep cool and I hate having my hair up in a ponytail.
