Among the many qualities that make Whitney Port (of The Hills) so lovely is that she has her own style. I've always thought of Whit as someone who sets trends as opposed to following them. So when I spotted this style star sporting shiny turquoise nail polish, I was excited.
For anyone who's willing to try out a wild new water-colored varnish, get ready for the next big nail trend. You can always go back to my China Glaze review, and here are two more aqua nail polishes.
Nic's Sticks by OPI in Baby Go Bye-Bye ($6.99) is a vibrant turquoise color. This relatively new and easy-to-use nail polish pen is great if you are looking for a quick color fix. I haven't tried them, but there are 30 colors and from what I understand, the only drawback is that they are a little runnier than the original OPI formula. The advantage: the polish dries in just one minute.

Attention all neon lovers: Creative Nail Design in Hot Pop Blue ($10) is a bright aqua nail lacquer for you. There are also two more Hot Pop colors in the collection for those of you who dare to wear bold pink or orange polishes. Two coats and a top coat are all it takes to create sexy, shiny, chip-resistant nails.

Cool, I've always thought turquoise looked good with pink, so I'll have to try it
Oh, pretty pretty!
I'm intrigued by the nail polish pens - they sound cool if they work out alright.
Not sure on this one...
i would never wear turquoise nail polish...
Pretty color. I'll have to try it.
I could never pull this off!
This is a great trend since spring is here.
Love the color... But I have worn every color of the rainbow on my fingers! The nail polis pens are also really cool. I do my touch ups on my breaks at work!
Cool! Unfortunately, my nails and skin are allergic to nail polish.
a girl at my school had turquiose nail polish on today and it looked really good...
Maybe if i was not an adult with a real job...
Ooh! I had turqouise nail polish in the 90'(and lipstick)! Don't think it would match my style today though.
funky
i like it
not my speed but will be cute to add a surprise bit of color..
Oooh those nail polish pens would be perfect for me! I'm such a klutz when it comes to nail polish. And turquoise is a pretty color!
Ya know.. With the quick dry color, I find that it just doesn't last very long on my nails.
Hmmm, I actually sort of like that.
Mmm I dunno.
i got some at target a few weeks ago. i felt like i was having a middle school flashback.
Oh, to be twelve again...
ID WEAR THAT COLOUR, ITS FRESH AND BRIGHT!
& I LIKE THE IDEA OF A PEN NAIL POLISH.BET ITS ALOT EASIER TO APPLY.:]
Awesome! I used to love nail polish pens when I was younger, glad they are making a come back!
I love it! I actually just bought a similar (but more sheer) shade at Target the other day. It's fun for spring.
Be fun for a pedicure, but I'm not sure I could do a pedicure with it.
oooo i like this colour! So bright and so spring!!!
This color reminds me too much of junior high for some reason ... and I'd definitely feel stupid wearing it to the office at work! I struggle with that ... I sometimes want to have red or another bright color of nails, but think it'll come across as unprofessional!
I'd maybe wear it on the weekends....
Oh please, I am an adult with a "real" job, and I would totally consider this color the next time I'm at the nail shop. If you can't have fun in life, what's the point? sheesh
thedingo: You took the words right out of my mouth!
I luv that color...it would look terrible on me tho.
Ditto with thedingo and sjj158. Nail polish means nothing. It's the piercings/flip flops/revealing tops that bothers my boss. (I work at a law firm.)
I was getting a pedicure this weekend and saw a lady get that color on her fingers...she had fake nails and it was REALLY bright and eye catching. Not sure if it was in a good way though.
I agree with an another poster....good for toes, maybe not for fingers.
But hey, who am I to judge?
I love it! Can't wait to try it!
i must live in a cave somewhere, but who is she? and why is what she's wearing trend worthy?
yeah, i don't understand why a pseudo celebrity wearing something makes it a hot new trend.
I use to have that same color nail polish and I loved it! It was Hard Candy's Sushi, it was a very cool color.
Don't get me wrong but why it's a trend alert when one person like her wears it? Ridiculous.
I love it! I want a pedicure now with this color.
I love it for spring!
ewww. Too 80's for me :/
i really like the turquoise - i love bright colors and this one is unexpected. i might not be bold enough to put it on my fingernails but i think it would be great for a pedi.
I love the color, but I'm sure if I'd actually ever wear it.
awesome. I love unique nail polish colors that others judge, but I feel like a total rockstar!
I'll check this out.
I would like it to be deeper, but would paint the tootsies. Maybe the fingernails, but I'd probably try to make it unique.
This months TEEN VOGUE has a layout where the models are wearing this nail polish color. I immediatley thought of this posting because it is going to be a huge trend this summer. It is refreshing and not cliche like typical pinks and lavenders for spring. Trust me ladies, you will see it everywhere.
Does anyone know where to buy those nail pens?
Wow.. I had no idea this was a "trend". I just took the color off of my nails after having it on for the past 2 weeks. While it was on, I received so many compliments which was cool, although a lot of them ended with "i could never pull that off". I loved it.. I think I'm gonna go for a bright purple next.
