Say what you will about Tyra Banks, but she's definitely not afraid to be seen in her less glamorous moments. In her book, she posed with no makeup, and in today's season premiere of The Tyra Show, she wore her hair naturally. Since she often wears a wig, weave, or other hairpiece, she wanted to encourage women to embrace their natural hair. Check it out:

I have to say, normally I cannot stand Tyra but its really cool how she makes women feel like its beautiful to be themselves. Go Tyra!... for now.
1im sorry, that may be her hair, but its obviously not natural. she must get it chemically straightnened every few moneys to look like that without any roots.
2i really liked this episode but i don't understand why she had perez there.
32- what makes you think that? my friend has that hair exactly and she has never chemically treated her hair.
4Didn't she the show but based on the vid here I think she looks way more sophisticated and beautiful with her hair natural, without all the extensions or wigs.
5i agree mollyparnis--even without ever seeing her natural hair i could have bet it was better then most of her extensions, weaves, wigs--they drive me crazy 99% of the time. she looks so much better here.
6Did anyone catch that that is her hair when it's wet, just out of the shower? Why didn't she show it when it's dry? Everyone's hair pretty much looks the same when it's wet. And for some of us (like me), it looks better when wet unless I straighten it.
7J rabbit she did show it when its dry. she showed it both when its styled and when she just lets it air dry.
8Everything celebrities do is so contrived! Much of Oprah's success was due to her audience's ability to relate to her (the struggles with weight, the sexual abuse, etc). Now Tyra takes it one step further....she's the supermodel that "keeps it real." It really makes young women endear themselves to her because she has been a thing of remarkable beauty for all of her career and for her to say, "Hey ya'll, this ain't my real hair, this ain't my real skin, I have cellulite, these photos have been retouched to death...." People respond to that. But at the same time she produces a show to propel women into that same industry with its unrealistic standards of beauty that she claims to have such a disdain for.
9some of her weaves were nice, but i really disliked most of them. they looked so fake and not flattering at all. i love that she's doing this. wendy williams should do the same.
10I agree #9. I'm not a fan of her show.
11um what? so she just walked out with her hair wet? i saw a clip with tyra and perez and her hair was obviously blow-dried and styled afterwards.
12She had it blow dried, and curled during the show
13Nice analysis, darkangel! I find her message completely hypocritical while producing the extremely vacuous and superficial Americas Next Top Model.
