Half-updos can get a little ho-hum, especially for special occasions. And with Valentine's Day right around the corner, you are probably pondering your hairstyle for the night. Which is why we were so excited to get our hands on this gorgeous hair tutorial from Mario Russo, owner and leader of Salon Mario Russo [1] in Boston. Step One
After blow-drying your hair, lightly mist Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray [3] ($33) for shine. Next, section your hair into three parts and curl each with a one-and-a-quarter-inch iron. Back-comb the hair at the root.
Step Two
Take a section of hair from one side of your face and pull it loosely to the side of your head, twisting toward the back. Secure it with a bobby pin.
Step Three
Repeat that step on the second side and secure with a bobby pin.
Step Four
Take the top section of hair and wrap it into a loose circle. Disguise the pin by weaving it in and out of your hair.
Step Five
Repeat the previous step with two more sections: one underneath and slightly to the left of the first circle and the other slightly to the right.
Final Look
Finish with a spritz of hair spray, like Bumble and Bumble Spray du Monde [9] ($15).
