I am not surprised by the results of Best Foundation of 2008. Whenever Bare Escentuals Foundation ($25) is mentioned on this site, loads and loads of comments come in raving about the brand. I've got to agree. Its foundations do provide great coverage, last for ages, and come in a variety of shades.
Oh, and since so many of you wrote in that you loved the blendability and color selection of L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup ($9.29), it looks like I'll have to put that on my list of must-try drugstore foundations. As for my pick? I'm going with Prescriptives on this one. With a wide variety of formulations and a custom match, you just can't go wrong with its attention-to-detail kind of service. Want more? This foundation saved my skin. I'm not joking. Gorgeous stuff!
where can i get it online ?
I love my Prescriptives too, Bella.
So please True Match got a mention!
pleased*
I really have to try Bare Minerals. My skin is horrible so I know it would help clear it up I'm just worried it won't have enough coverage for me.
My favorite is actually a tie between Vincent Longo cream foundation (its water-based and simply wonderful), MAC's Studio Fix powder, and Mary-Kay's liquid medium-coverage...those are the only products that don't break me out.
Laura Mercier for me. Love love love it.
I use True Match. I love it and it's great for the price. I'm sure there are better products that cost more money. I have tried every major drugstore foundation I could get my hands on and True Match won that hands down. I've always wanted to try Bare Minerals but I heard it doesn't provide a lot of coverage? I'm not wanting a mask but I have some discoloration on one cheek and freckles on one cheek and I like them to be covered up.. A lot of foundations I have tried either provide not enough coverage or so much that I look like I'm going out for Halloween. Anyone else in the same boat that has tried Bare Minerals??
love my b.e.
I must not have voted. Trying that was one of the worst makeup/skin experiences I've ever had. It looked and felt horrible.
I use Jane Iredale's pressed foundation and my skin's condition has improved dramatically. It also looks completely natural.
I think it's okay...my skin is on the drier side, though, so I really prefer tinted moisturizer.
i'll stick to my Max Factor Pan-Stik and my Revlon Colorstay foundation, both are the best drugstore foundations I've ever used and provide awesome coverage which I need. And the Max Factor Pan-Stik's are only 8 bucks or so, so good enough for me!
I use be and yes, it provides sheer coverage, you definitely need to use a concealer with it if you have dark circles or imperfections. I am in the market for a concealer right now to use with mine. Other than that I like the texture of BE,the added SPF, and that a little goes a long way. It can be slightly itchy if you have dry skin. I'd like to try Urban Decays mineral foundation, as well as Everyday Minerals.
bare escentuals always got weird with me. When I first buy it, it would match my skin, but then after a few months it'll change color O.o. My friend had the same problem with it. I now use Sephora brand 'cause it's the only foundation between $20-$30 bucks that matches me.
Woo!
I hate BE. Literally loathe it. It makes large pores seem larger and looks dry but at the same time makes my skin look shiny...go figure. Its Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer and Chanel teint innocence for me
Good post.
It's Laura Mercier all the way for me. BE just doesn't cover up my redness!
Make Up Forever HD Foundation takes the cake for me.
If I had to go with mineral foundation, I'd pick Everyday Minerals. Bare Escentuals has bismuth oxychloride, which is horrible for skin. Plus EM is cheaper, has 4 types of formulas to choose from, and you can sample em all for free (you have to pay three dollars and some odd cents for shipping though). But again, MUFE is just...amazing coverage, micro perfecting, and amazingly breathable.
I LOVE this foundation! It hides blemishes and flaws and is so easy to use. Your face feels fresh all day long! Well worth the money, and it lasts a long time.
BE works well, but for the older woman (I'm 40) stay away from the eyes, as it can make you look a bit wrinkly. It can lightly airbrush everything else, though.
