Watching your makeup melt away in the Summer heat is not only frustrating, it's also preventable. MAC senior artist Gina Bettelli created a beautiful everyday makeup look that uses longwear products to ensure your makeup stays in place no matter the heat index. After cleansing your skin, Bettelli says the first step is to apply a primer. She used the Prep + Prime Moisture Fusion ($40) for a little hydration with priming benefits. But for oilier skin types, "I love Prep + Prime Skin Radiance ($41) to absorb excess oil and to help foundation wear longer," she says.

Next apply a longwear foundation to even out your skin tone. Bettelli is a fan of Matchmaster Foundation ($35) for its matte finish and ability to match your skin for a natural look.

Follow up with a longwear concealer, but Bettelli advises to keep the application light. "You don't want to overuse it," she says,"because it gets cakey. A brush is a good option — pat for more coverage and then sweep to sheer."

Next, Bettelli used Pro Longwear Blush in Rosy Outlook ($26) on the apples of the cheeks for a soft flush of color.

Heading back up to the eyes, Bettelli prepped the lids with Blot Powder ($26) to prevent greasy eyelids and eye shadow slippage.

She then applied a warm tawny eye shadow — Pro Longwear in Always Sunny ($21) — all over the lids, connecting it under the lower lids as well.

To brighten up the soft brown all over the lids, Bettelli went back with a shimmering gold shadow, which she dusted into the inner corners of the eyes.

To make the neutral eye makeup pop, Bettelli went back and curled the eyelashes.

Then she used Extended Play Gigablack Mascara ($17) for a rich black tone that lasts all day. "It really holds up to the humidity, sweat, and tears," she says.

For the finishing touch, Bettelli reached for Mineralize Lipstick in Style Surge ($22) for a neutral coral color that has lasting power, but also hydrates the lips.

To ensure everything stays in place, set the entire look with Blot Powder ($26). Bettelli recommends applying with a brush for easier blending.

The final look is perfect for every day, and will stay put! Plus, you can stow the blotting powder in your bag for touch-ups to keep shine at bay.
