Where's the Oddest Place You've Ever Had Your Hair Done?

While most of you weren't loving Renée Zellweger's new cropped bob, you have to give her kudos for just going for it. The shorter cut, which arose out of necessity thanks to the stress of changing her hair for roles, was actually done in the dining room. Sure it's not a conventional place for hairstyling, but who says you have to go to the salon to get a cut, anyhow? In fact, when I was younger, my friend used to cut my hair in the ladies' locker room at the country club where her dad worked. What's the strangest place you've ever done it — had a haircut, that is?

I've had my hair cut in the basement/laundry room of a guys' dorm. I've also had it cut in a hotel room in Armenia. I've also cut other peoples' hair in plenty of strange places.

Not a strange place, but.... I was out drinking heavily with a firend of mine, and mentioned I was thinking about cutting my waist-length hair. She told me she was good at cutting hair, one thing led to another, and we're on my back-porch. She didn't cut it the way I asked, but it turned out great! I woke up the next morning and didn't remember it until I went to run my fingers through my hair.

^ I'm sorry, that sounded like I was bragging. I more meant that I never get comments like "what the hell happened to your hair?" so I figure I must be alright at it ;)

I cut my own hair in my bathroom. Is that odd? I always get compliments though, haha, so I figure I must be alright at it.

In someone's converted basement and in someone's kitchen. It came out pretty good except the one that does hair in the basement smoked like a chimney so I would smell like menthol kools. Blech!

My nan cuts my hair in the middle of the kitchen! I've been to no end of salons and have always hated the result, but she always gives me a the perfect style that lets the cut grow healthily. Plus it's free :) apart from lots of cups of tea ;)

when i was a kid my parents and i regularly got our hair cut in our garage because a family friend was a hairstylist. he took a break from hair when i was 10 or 11 and i had never been to a salon. a handful of salons later, our friend is back to doing our hair, but now at a fancy salon in a hotel.

I cut my BF's hair on our porch, not really strange, but I do get weird looks from people sometimes. Not exactly a haircut, but in 10th grade, my friend double pierced my ears with a safety pin (burned for sanitation- classy!) and part of a granola bar (we didn't have an apple) on the "smoking corner" curb during lunch! I'm surprised I didn't get rabies or anything, and how nicely they healed!

For my sister's weddding my hairdresser ended up cutting my hair uneven. We didn't notice until later, so she came by the nail salon where we were getting mani/pedis and cut my hair in the nail salon's bathroom.
