Weird Toothpastes

Brusha, Brusha, Brusha: Deliciously Weird Toothpastes

13

Every one of us brushes her teeth multiple times each day. But for something that's such an integral part of our health and beauty routines, there's surprisingly little diversity in the flavors and ingredients on drugstore shelves. It's usually mint, mint, or mint. I find this mediocre selection not only damnably dull but altogether intolerable. Why can't brushing be a varied experience, like eating or applying makeup, instead of a monotonous chore? To that end, I've searched out some wild alternatives that work just as well as Crest and will undoubtedly make for good times in your mouth. Click through and start your very own oral hygiene adventure.

McLeans in Australia has citrus flavoured toothpaste. I haven't tried it because the price is a little steep, but the lower priced pastes by the same brand are really good.

i cant help but giggle! we are passionate about our toothpastes arent we? well i am definitely someone that cant stand mint flavored paste. i traditionally used peroxicare for years, but i recently fell in love with GoSmile Night Toothpaste. its lavender flavored, and completely fresh! yall should try for sure!
I always use Tom's of Maine orange flavored toothpaste. I can't stand mint in any form.
I have the Weleda salt toothpaste at home and I actually really like it. Weleda is a great brand, by the way, if you are concerned about eliminating unnecessary chemicals from your beauty routine. I'm a bit paranoid about traditional toothpastes as I think they are full of all kinds of unnecessary (and evil) ingredients. I used to really like the pepsodent powdered toothpaste when I was little but it was discontinued, sadly.

Cool, I'd like some clay in my mouth :-)
Runningesq, I think what anon at 12:17 meant was there is a 'conspiracy theory' meaning her theory that there is a relation between loss of taste by strong toothpaste and more and more people consuming bland foods. We have to realize that the food we taste now a days is really bland compared to absolutely naturally grown fruits and veggies. I know this as I grow tomatoes at home, the difference btwn supermarket tomatoes and home grown is huge! Just taste a home grown one and you`ll understand what we are loosing on.

I like my toothpaste mild and fresh. I can't stand Anise and strong mint makes my eyes tear up. I do brush my teeth occasionally with my daughters toothpaste for little kids, strawberry taste. It's a little silly but a nice change.
I have a weird conspiracy theory about the super-strong mint toothpaste: it kills your taste buds and then everything tastes like cardboard, so you don't mind eating the bland, cardboard like fruits and veggies from the supermarkets vs. going out of your way to get yummy flavor-full fresh farmer's market stuff. Honestly, I think there is a correlation between the rise in strength of the toothpaste and the rise of mass-production cardboard tasting agriculture. Good thing there are more and more toothpaste options out there now days - and hey, the farmer's markets are back in fashion, too!
i just got the nature's gate anise flavored toothpaste. i guess i've just been indoctrinated with mint, bc while i KNOW that my teeth are clean, it just doesnt feel as fresh!

This are really cool and definitely new and interesting, but when it comes to toothpaste, I think I like to stick to the mint! It is one thing that you can get at the drugstore without worrying that there is a much better product out there!
