What Beauty Rituals Do You and Your Mom Share?

Since the likelihood is high that you and your mother have similar coloring, skin type and hair type, are there certain beauty rituals that you share? For example, my mom and I have the same color eyes, so we are always trading secrets about the latest eye shadows that will make our eyes stand out.

It looks like mother-daughter duo Gabby and Donna Karan share a love of Mystic Tan. While these women are fashion icons for sure, their status in the beauty department is in question here — these tans are looking just a tad too orange. Tell me, what kinds of beauty rituals, if any, you and your mother share.

You guys are lucky! My mom and I have very similar features: delicate bone structure, dark hair, eye shape, everything. Unfortunately, my mom is a major tomboy and has never cared much for makeup or pampering. She's beautiful and knows her makeup [she does a mean smokey eye for parties], but gets bored/doesn't like talking about it. I wish we could share makeup tips...haha, which is why I'm here.

since i used to work at sephora, my mom depends on me to give her suggestions. wen i was younger of course it was the other way around but now the tables have turned.

The photo was Tan and I thought they were twins... My Mother has Never Shared with me. She is not a warm nor caring person. But I have a Super,Sharing,Caring,Happy,Silly,Loving relationship with my Daughter.She is Blond and Super fair skinned but we both like sheer pink gloss and taupe eyeshadow and brown mascara. I alway's turn her on to Product's, Fashion and told her if you buy only one Magazine all you need is InStyle!

i think its very sad when you look this much like your mother. and not because Donna looks younger. and my mom gives me beauty tips, but i am usually the one giving her ideas, like to pop vitamin e pills and mix the contents into her lotion. She also has bad scarring on her legs from lichen planus, and I help her to minimize or cover up the scars when she wears skirts or goes swimming.

My mom got me started on Bare Escentuals make up, so we always share beauty tips/products in that regard. And we sometimes get our hair done together if time permits. My mom has been encouraging me to go lighter and lighter with my hair color, and I'm glad she has because I really love it so far. And she's been coloring her's for years now, so now we look even more alike!

My mom passed away in 2004. Although we were close in mind and spirit we didn't look alike. She was dark w/ brown eyes, I'm blonde with blue eyes. The only thing we shared as far as opinions on each others make-up was we were both in agreement that we had opposite tastes as far as beauty rituals.

i love getting mani pedis with my mom. I live kind of far now, but whenever we're together we talk about stuff. I've even showed her new things. We look a like (Dark hair, blue eyes) I'm just lighter skinner than her. She's my best friend :-)

i have recently got my mom into the whole skincare routine with Estee Lauder products. so almost every night we stand at the mirror doing our faces. my mom have never used anything untill now, so she has very bad skin, and rosacea. now her skin is getting better and shes regretting she never did this from her teens. so i go shop for skincare products with her, and sometimes do her makeup and brows, thats our beautything.

We don't get anything done together but we have our hair colored a similar shade and we both wear a lot of makeup. I'm in cosmetology school right now and I'm looking forward to giving my mom a makeover the next time I see her, then we'll look even more alike.

I love shopping with my mom. Makeovers! Buying makeup or skincare!! We've done the Mani/pedi and hair too. I tought I had a ton of product until I went into her bed/bath for something. She has way more than me! We also pilates together. She doesn't live close so it's not as often as I wish.

my mom and i might do our own nails together...we use the same foundation although i have much lighter skin than her, so we use a different shade. we both get our hair highlighted, but never together and we're different colors there, too. so...yeah.

I am fair & blonde & my mom is fair with dark hair so we don't really "share" anything. But thanks to her I will never go a day in my life without moisturizer with sunscreen. She has lupus & can't go in the sun & don't want to look like an old leather bag when I'm older. Oh & giant hats. She wears 'em all the time & I started doing it too. They really work to keep the sunn off!

My mom and I are very similar in our colourings, save for the fact that she's tan and I'm most certainly not. What we'll do is go to the Stila counter together at Holts, and do our makeup at the same mirror when we go out.

We'll get manis and pedis however that's about it. We have different tastes/looks; however every now and than we will recommend a product. My mom bought me DiorShow Mascara and it's now one of my staples. I told her about Burt's Bees products and she loves them.

My mom passed away, but we never really shared any beauty rituals. She did teach me how to properly tweeze my eyebrows, and she sent me to the salon for my first real haircut for my 13th birthday. For those things I am forever grateful :)

My mom and I have completely different skin tones, (mine's cool and hers is warm even though we're both light-skinned and dark-haired) so we never shared make-up. Also, she was never much into cosmetics (she thought of it as a chore!!) while I've loved making myself up since my early teens. Recently, though, she's become more interested in being glamorous and I've loved giving her tips! Now we both love a mom-daughter Sephora day!
