What Are Facial Oils?

Why You'll Find Plenty to Love in Facial Oils

3

Oils get a bad rap when it comes to putting them on the face, but really, there's nothing to be afraid of. In fact, embracing facial oils will lead to supple, dewy skin that stays hydrated throughout the day — which is perfect for dry Winter weather. For those still a little leery of the oil-to-face movement, here's an explanation of why you'll love them (plus, check out three to try).

@Brittney Stephens Hey Britt! I use an SPF and then the oil on top, let it set, and then apply makeup (foundation or concealer). Since they're easily absorbed into the skin, you won't look greasy like you went on a hardcore run that morning. And they're super for the night so you skin can recover from environmental factors throughout the day :)

Brittney - I'm obsessed with rosehip oil and apply it under my usual moisturiser. It works great for me during either winter or summer, I just change my moisturiser as I normally would to match the warmer weather (but then I have dry skin). I wait for about 20 mins before applying makeup. I don't know how I survived the subarctic temperatures before! :)

I've been really skeptical of facial oils but this video makes me want to try one. When you put it on in the morning, do you just apply your makeup over it? Or is it better for days when you aren't going to wear makeup? Also, what nail polish are you wearing? I love it!
