What's Your Tanning Method Of Choice?

Since I know you wouldn't dare bask in the sun and all of its harmful rays, vote below to let me know your personal self-tanning preference. It looks like Paris Hilton is a big fan of the fake bake. Nowadays there are all sorts of options to obtain a healthy sun-kissed (and hopefully not too orange) glow. I love a little color, but I'm always self conscious of spotting after a spray tan session — what about you?

I use L'oreal Sublime self tanning mist, works great for me. I've searched about all the reviews "which is what brought me here" ... and well, the reviews are mixed. People love it or they hate it, so my advice is... try it. You might just like it. Plus us cheap.

I have used fake tanning lotions for years and have had so much more self confidence with a tan than without. I wish I could embrace being pale but I have very dark hair and feel like I look like a vampire all year long without my tanning lotions. I get lots of compliments on my tan and in the past everyone only commented on I was the palest person they had ever seem. Definitly not a confidence booster

Sunbathing...not often though. I used to get really tan in the summer but not so much anymore. I don't understand why people go to tanning booths, it always look too orange-y to me.

Pale and proud, sporting at least SPF 15 every single day! I pick up some color accidentally in the summer, but that's it. I keep waiting for all the celebs to stop tanning. Lindsey L keeps going overboard - she looks dirty. I'd rather be pale than resemble an oompa-loompa any day!

I'm pale to not say milky-white like a lot most of the time. I'm a blond so it doesn't help to tan easily...:rotfl:

I don't tan at all, but when it's summer I go outside most of the time with sunblock on me, but I don't do tanning.Sometimes I say sometimes when I was in my teens I was doing a little bit of tanning, but not that much I looked more like I was a lobster-human...:rotfl:

As a child I would easily darken in the sun (thanks to my Mexican roots and year around softball tournaments-SPF always). Now that I am older I can't seem to keep my legs from blinding everyone! I got desperate for some color and bought a month of sessions for a tanning bed...big mistake!! It was my first time ever trying it and my skin was too sesitive to the light...thank goodness! I will NEVER go back to the beds and will stick to Jergens tanning lotion (although I do need some advice on getting the lotion to blend nicely on my feet-they are so white compared to my fake tan legs LoL)! After hearing all of the risks tanning beds have I am glad I experienced it and found out it wasn't for me! Plus, I don't want to look 40 when I am 30!

I used to go tanning once in a while, but I am one of the few who find it really uncomfortable, and you smell bad for the rest of the day so it is hard to find a right time to go. If you are looking for a nice self-tanner, the bare escentuals is amazing, it is colorguided, natural-looking, non-comedegenic, so it won't clog pores, and it has a hint of almond oil in it which makes it smell super good and almond oil is really good for the skin.

I'm half Irish, half Italian, and I live in New York...so without any sun (ie most of the year), I'm super pale, and people have actually been really mean about it. Seriously, I've worn skirts without stockings, and I've actually been mocked and made fun of at work. How rude is that? For that reason, among others, ..I really like a little color in the summer, especially on my legs, which are about as white as legs can be. When I was younger, I used tanning beds, but I've quit because I don't want to risk skin damage. I've tried tanning lotions, but the only ones I can manage to apply correctly are the ones that gradually deposit color like Jergens, which take foreeever.

I've noticed that people are pretty harsh about others' tanning habits...A lot of people seem pretty condescending towards the idea of tanning! It seems that the tanning bed is getting the same treatment now as a cigarette (due to the cancer link?). Either way, who would have thought!! It seemed for so long that being tan was "cool", and now, it's a magnet for criticism...I remember in high school my mom not letting me tan and being the sole pale girl at dances (I thank her now for it!), but back then, ugh, the shame!

I, unfortch, am not one of those people who can look in the mirror and be proud of being pale--I just can't seem to pull it off :( Rather than use a tanning bed (hello even more freckles and future skin issues), I use a combo of spray tan/tanning lotion once warm weather season hits....In the summer, I do spend a lot of time outdoors with SPF, and I still manage to get some color that way.....either way, I'm bummed that I can't seem to shake the sickly look when I'm my natural color.

I use self-tanning lotion sometimes when I'm afraid my legs are starting to blind people, but mostly I just stick with my natural paleness. I had a spray-on tan done professionally once for a special occasion, but my boyfriend didn't like it. He said that I just didn't look like myself without fair skin.
