Where Do You Get Ready?

When I was young, I always admired my grandmother's vanity, perfectly stocked with beautiful perfume bottles, powdery makeup, and what seemed like an endless supply of costume jewelry. While I might not have room for my own vanity set, each morning, I designate two spots where I get ready for the day, and one of them is my makeshift "vanity" I made in my closet. The other is the bathroom, where I blow-dry my locks. What about you? Where does your getting-ready routine take place?

My vanity! I take my time getting ready, so sitting down definitely helps. I check and correct my makeup in the bathroom though, since my bedroom has horrible lighting.

For the workweek: I have to be up pretty early to go to work, and I walk & take public transport, so I keep much of my makeup at work and put it on in the changing room (where I also get into my uniform). I also keep a brush, comb and hair stuff there, because the weather will mess up anything I try to do to my hair beforehand.For any other time: my bathroom mirror is the only place with enough good light and accessible outlets to do my hair and make-up. I have a very nice vanity in the bedroom where I keep perfume and other random accessories, but it's way too cluttered with my junk, and too dark because I don't have a way to light it (no outlets). But if I ever live in a place where I can set up my vanity for it's intended purpose, that's what I'll do.

I get ready in the bathroom. The window provides the best, brightest natural light I've ever seen! I'll miss my bathroom when I move.

I did my makeup in the bathroom and kept most of my products in a five drawer rubbermaid container. However, I kept my brushes in one of those Sephora inspired cups, one for face and two for eyes. OMG...I thought I would die when I saw on that Doctors show the first week it was on that fecal matter flies around in the air for two hours after you flush the toilet. I may remember to put the lid down, but that doesn't mean everyone will. I needed to get my vanity together as I was getting ready to start YouTube videos anyway, but OMG I immediately washed each and every brush...lol

If it's during the week when I have to be at work at an UNGODLY hour, I either do my make-up in the parking garage sitting in my car or the bathroom at work. I am not a morning person! Otherwise I get ready at my vanity.

In the bathroom, for some reason I can't sit down while doing my hair or makeup. Plus I'm usually running late so sitting makes me feel like I'm wasting time.

Like a few others, I'm split between my vanity and my bathroom. Makeup and jewelry are all at the vanity, which I love having right in front of the window. Hair and perfume are all in the bathroom.

I do my makeup at a vanity in my room, but I do my hair in the bathroom. And every once in awhile... yes, I will admit it... I'll do a little makeup in car when I'm in a hurry :-X

I'd love a vanity! I tried a few times to make a makeshift one, but kept gravitating back towards the light...in the bathroom.

I have a makeshift vanity set up on my desk in my dorm. It actually works quite well!

Hair gets done in the upstairs bathroom. Get dressed, put on jewelry and apply perfume in the guest bedroom. Put on my makeup in the downstairs bathroom. It would be so nice to have a one-room-fits-all kind of routine.

I love my vaniity!! and I recently got a nice one for my bathroom too, the bedroom vanity mirror has this amazing patterned copper frame, so even if my reflection doesn't put a smile on my face, the pretty pretty vanity does :)

I'd love to have my own vanity but alas I don't have the room or the best lighting in my bedroom.
