Which Career Would You Choose in the Beauty Biz?

Have you ever thought about pursuing a career in the beauty biz? Well, let's just pretend for a moment. Perhaps you'd like to attend cosmetology school to become a hairstylist, or maybe you've thought about working as a makeup artist for film and television. How very Jillian Dempsey of you.

Make-up for sure. I tried doing freelance,made business cards and put a portfolio together, but my town is so small no one is going to pay to have their make-up done :/

Well I'm already a beauty editor so that's a bit of a no brainer on my part! However I have always been fascinated by makeup artistry. It looks like such a fun job. Maybe a second career path somewhere down the road? =)

Since I work in publishing now, you’d think I’d go straight for beauty editor, but no. There’s a bit too much hob-nobbing for me. I’d be an esthetician instead. It’s more one-on-one, and since I’ve struggled with skin issues for years, it could be really rewarding to help people look better through better skincare and self-care.
