Who Do You Wear Perfume For?

Lately I can't get enough of Narciso Rodriguez For Her. The perfume was released in 2003, but it took five years for me to realize how well it envelops musk with flowers. Love it. But when I brought a sample home, Mr. Bella complained that it smelled like an ex-girlfriend of his. Even worse, he (incorrectly!) grouses that it's an "old-lady scent."

I disagree with his opinion of the perfume, and while I don't wear it when we're on a romantic date, I still plan to buy a bottle to wear elsewhere. This whole situation has me wondering: When you choose a perfume, who do you have in mind? Yourself? Your dates? A certain occasion? Or is it something else completely?

I wear fragrance for all of the above reasons. Predominantly for myself and whatever prospect(s)I have in mind, but yeah, for all of the options. When someone other than yourself reinforces your fragrance choice, it's a major confidence booster.

i wear fragrance for both myself and my man. wearing a pretty fragrance empowers me and my boyfriend likes it too. luckily, two of his favourite scents are two of mine as well.

Yeah, I wear it mainly for my bf (who always smells amazing, for the record) and also for myself. Mintie, you are right on about the purple hair. I too had purple hair once, and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done with it.

Strictly for me. I really don't care if anyone else hates the scents I wear or would prefer if I wear something else.

I love to wear florals, but my beau goes wild for musk on me. As much as i love my heady florals, i don't smell the scent on myself after a while anyway, so whenever I'm with my bf, I wear musk. It's always worth his reaction of not being able to keep his hands off me.

Only me! If I like it that's all I need. Usually hubby likes my taste especially since I am picky about scents. Bella, I love Narcisso Rodriguez Her also. I got a sample from Sephora and fell in love.

I have 4 or 5 different perfumes that I rotate between. I can't wear any except my Tresor around my daughter or she starts sneezing and gets a headache. But, the others I wear when I am not with her. My husband's favorite is eternity, but I don't like it that much. I do wear it mainly for him if we go out to dinner or something. He also loves Tresor too. But, most of the time I wear the ones I like...Ed Hardy, Betsey Johnson, and my Juicy Couture.

For myself, always. I like to coordinate my scents with how I feel that day, what I'm doing, and what I'm wearing. Today was a very nautical-inspired look, so I mixed some Marc Jacobs Cotton with his Daisy scent. I tend to wear Daisy, CBIhateperfume's In the Library, Lush's Silky Underwear, or YSL's Opium depending on how I feel.

for moi...but when i am looking to buy new scents, i am careful, because my hubby is allergic to strong scents. i tend to like light subtle scents. some of my favorites: sjp's lovely body mist,yves rocher eau de parfum in gardenia. i also love wearing essential oils!

I find it funny that people wear or do things for other people. I wear perfume because I love the scent, have purple hair because I like it, carry my YSL Muse bag because I adore it... and I love each of my 150 pairs of shoes, and I wear them for me. There will always be someone who loves it and someone who hates it... what do I care?

I wear one for myself, one for the significant other, and another for special occasions. But yeah the boy doesn't like my personal scent either but I wear it anyway.

i wear it for myself, but i consider my fiance's tastes, where i'm going and the season. my go-to scent is dior addict, which is too heavy on a lot of people, but just smells yummy, creamy and light on me. my fiance loves it, but i'm looking for something fresher for the summer. i have a very sensitive nose, so it's hard to find the right fragrance, but even still, i'd never wear anything that he truly hates. i second the narcisco rodriguez for her pick--it's a very sexy scent.
