"Whip My Hair" is the first musical effort from Will Smith's daughter, Willow. (Seriously, what can this family not do?) Besides being adorable, it also advocates that we whip our "hair back and forth" when confronted with haters. As someone who has, on occasion, been known to whip her bangs around to punctuate statements, I'd be happy to see this song hit the top of the charts. But is hair whipping the sort of thing you engage in, or are Willow and I alone in our love of the activity? Listen to the precocious song and let me know what you think:

The hook is catchy... not feeling the auto tunes when clearly this kid can really sing. She was singed to Rock Nation so despite the comments.... we will here much more from Willow... she is a kid after all and is saying the things kids say and/or relate to.

squiggle,doodle,do maths homework,do music practise...thats what a nineyear old should be doing,not singing like shes 24!omg what the hell is the world coming to.its so fake sounding,like shes had it resynched.its just scary...

randomly creepy!and she's nine,right?she sounds just like Rhianna!and that is a compliment...i like Rhianna.especially Russian roulette.its a real good song

I'm so sick of these songs about haters and talk about haters. Please? Its all in the mind. I have no idea who is "hating" on me because I could give a rat's bee-hind if they are or aren't. People create an "imaginary fan base" of haters to give them an excuse to be confrontational or feel superior. It annoys me so badly that our kids have picked up on this because they go so overboard with it.

No. She sounds like Rihanna, and that isn't a compliment. Way too much autotune involved in this. Can we eliminate the word 'hater' from the language altogether? Every song nowadays seems to be about how great you think you are and calling everyone who points out that you haven't really done anything a hater. This song is made weirder by the fact that she's NINE. How much criticism did she really have to deal with?

Her voice is impressive, but for a child to sing about ego-boosting, boasting, bragging, and fending off haters is ridiculous. Especially a child as privileged as Willow Smith. Maybe growing up in Hollywood allows her to be so jaded. Feeling good about oneself doesn't have to be based on the envy of others. More auto-tune crap. Seems no one actually needs real talent or a real singing voice anymore... just a rich and famous mommy, daddy or both.

...i actually like this song. But why would you put your 9 year old daughter into the spotlight like this? What is she going to do, tour? Seems waaayyyyy too young.
