World's Largest Breast Implants Get Removed

In scary cosmetic surgery news, Sheyla Hershey, a Texas woman who got implants to have M cup breasts, has had to have them removed after succumbing to staph and fungal infections.

In order to get her ginormous implants, she had to go to Brazil because doctors in the US aren't legally allowed to implant that much silicone — and with good reason. For months, Sheyla's had to have a special vacuum pump attached to her to siphon off fluid. She's also been on upward of three antibiotics at once because her body can't fight off bacteria. The entire ordeal sounds pretty scary and disturbing.

Does this story make you more wary of cosmetic surgery in general, or do you think that it was more a problem with the way Sheyla went about getting her mammoth mammaries?

@Kohina: why do you personally care if a woman gets implants or not? Sounds to me like you are jealous if you keep asking your male friends what they think of implants. You sound like a really mean person when you say that you can't wait to see these women get older and see what happens-and also - it's not a bad thing to not have saggy boobs when you get older. Anyways, I do think that M cups is outrageously large but if a woman wants plastic surgery I wouldn't judge because i personally don't really care what another woman looks like

I could see having a tummy tuck/boob lift after having a kid... but I would NEVER get implants, they freak me out!

I'm not wary of plastic surgery, but you need to be smart about it. Research your doctors and never go for dangerous procedures. What did she expect to happen? The procedure isn't even legal in the U.S. and in no way can M cup fake breasts be healthy, even if the procedure was legal.

I have natural DDD, and I cannot imagine a size M!!!! What in the world.... On her website it says, "Sheyla is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and English." Which I highly doubt.... Her site seems to be geared towards the adult industry.

I'd say It's possible for an infection to occur with average sized implants too. Major surgeries almost always run the risk of infection from breast augmentation to wisdom teeth extraction.

AmberHoney is spot on! There's always room to improve ourselves but using surgery is just crazy. Also to ladies with implants that are reading this...most men think they're pretty nasty (I have alot of male friends and I looove asking this question). Oh and not to mention when you get older and the rest of you starts sagging except for your perky rock hard boobs. Seriously I can't wait to see what happens when all these boob implant patients get older. Hope the money and pain was worth it.

Sorry, I don't need a nincompoop like this to inform me of misguided plastic surgery woes. In my humble opinion, the ONLY people that PS should be performed on is people who need it, i.e. disfigured people due to an illness or injury/accident or something of that nature. Not some insecure idiot who wants to keep her bf/hubby or doesn't feel pretty enough. This is getting as old as the brainless who have stars (or other moronic symbols) tattooed on their face. Forget college we need some common sense courses like yesterday if not sooner!

I've heard of cases of women with regular sized implants becoming gravely ill because their bodies think of the implant as a foreign object. The body uses all of it's anti-bodies to attack the object which debilitates the immune system causing all sorts of problems.Most of the women I see who get breast implants are very thin (seriously I would kill to be that thin) and look ridiculous with big breasts anyways so I don't understand why ANY woman would go under a procedure like this. Boobs are for feeding babies...they're not men's sexual play-things.

Wow. I can't imagine wanting breast implants of that size! No wonder they caused issues!I'm a little bit wary of plastic surgery in general, so I'm not sure if I could go through with it (would love a tummy tuck though, after a baby the tummy is just not the same!), but I think the sheer size of her breast implants were just a problem waiting to happen.

Having those size breast would cause major problems in the first place, so it was for the best that she got them removed. She must have had some major, unreasonable reason to get that size implants in the first place. That's just crazy.
