Would You Use Playboy Beauty?

''All women are Bunnies,'' Gloria Steinem wrote after her stint working at New York's Playboy club, ''but it doesn't have to be that way.'' Maybe not, but Playboy Beauty is going strong more than a year after it launched. The makeup line aims to allow "women to embrace their inner Playmate and release the 'centerfold' that’s hidden beneath."

The collection contains lip gloss, eye shadow duos, shimmer powder, and other essentials — none of which have been tested on animals, unless you count Bunnies as animals. (Har har.) So now that the line has been out for a while, would you use Playboy products, or does it skeeve you out?

i don't know. i can't imagine pulling this brand out of my bag in front of poeple. I love the girls next door, but when they put makeup on they overdo it. especially Bridget. Do you notice how pretty they all are when they are not wearing makeup? seriously, take it down a notch. and that goes for Paris Hilton too. IN her Hottie/Nottie movie trailer I saw, her natural look is SO beautiful. anyway, the way they do their makeup isn't inspiring to me to buy the same makeup they use!

I'd totally use it... as long as its quality make up. I'm not a fan of using an item based on brand. but if it works, it works - regardless of who makes it.

based upon the development of the playboy brand, i wouldn't use their makeup. their image is so cheap and tacky i think their makeup will be the same. yuck.

i love the Girls Next Door but IMHO it's tacky looking and kinda silly...then again, I used Jessica Simpson's flavored lip glosses and loved them so what do I know hehe :)

I would rather support Playboy than Victoria's Secret any day of the week. Even if we're too old & embarassed to use the bunny shaped lipgloss, Playboy is still fabulous!!

Not very likely. I don't think i would spend my hard earned beauty dollars on this product! Plus, I totally agree with Lawchick - its rather juvenile and embarrassing. I don't need a pink and black clad bunny case to make me feel sexy!

Honestly, if there were products within the line that I developed an attraction for---sure. However, the possibility is way doubtful!

I'm with fleurfairy. I support Playboy products and watch The Girls Next Door. I even have a subscription to the Bunny Store catalogue. Oh well, people can judge all they want.

I wouldnt use it, i think the Playboy line is tacky, but i dont think its exploit ave. Just as I dont think Hooters is exploitative. Those women arent being forced to pose nude, and they are just using what they have to make money.

It's kitschy AND tacky. No, I wouldn't use it. I don't need a Playboy branded beauty item to create any kind of "sexy" look that I want. I believe that this line would be purchased by teens and young women who want to be seen as "cool" or "sexy". Yes, I would be embarrassed pulling this out of my purse...what with all the great brands out there. I highly doubt this brand will be all that good anyway....perhaps one or two nice items like a gloss but not an all-around great line like L'Oreal, Bobbi Brown, Stila or MAC.

thesugardude: If it wasn't branded "Playboy" and it was quality, I would have no qualms trying it. My problem is absolutely with the brand and the name. I have read the magazine, and I still (and therefore) refuse to support its brand or logo. Others can do as they like, and I won't judge them. But I personally wouldn't own anything with their logo.

Can you ladies get past the brand name alone? I understand that you pull this stuff out of your purses in public. And people then, albeit shallow, judge you on the products you consume. What if it wasn't branded "Playboy", and what if it was actually quality (which I'm not doubting it is, I just have no idea) ... would you use it then? Is the Playboy brand THAT bad in your eyes that you can't see past the nudity aspect to indulge in any related product? I know a lot of women are down with Playboy, but for those of you who aren't, have you even read the magazine?

I would if the colors were right, and if the shimmer made my skin look beautiful. I would make the beauty my own, I wouldn't make myself up like a bunny or centerfold model, however.

Every time I see a Playboy bunny I think of the regrettable lower back tattoos that many girls in my high school got in the late 1990's. YUCK!

Okay... So on one hand, it's just makeup, and the Victoria's Secret line basically promotes the same thing. On the other hand, I can see some people being a little iffy about this. Playboy makeup would probably be something I would use in a 'sexy' situation... In order to make myself.. excuse ma français; slut-ish.

Tacky and trashy describes the Playboy bunny in my opinion. Ever since my slutty stepmom got a bunny tattoo, I want to barf every time I see that logo.

Probably not. Although I do not condemn Playboy or its products (its 2008 and we're not being forced to cover up from our eyeballs to our toes girls!), it just seems sort of trashy. I agree with others that say it seems a little juvenile and not sexy at all. I mean, what self-respecting woman would wear a body shimmer? Yuck.
