Intentionally Chipped Nails: Would You?

Gradient manicures, where the colors fade from bottom to top, have been around forever. But now some celebrity manicurists, like frequent Vogue collaborator Sophy Robson, are coming up with intentionally mangled, weirdly faded manicures in edgy shades. What do you think? Would you do something like this if you were going for a rock-chic look, or is it just too far out? I know I couldn't possibly reproduce something as artistically messed up as Sophy's manicure at home, anyway.

I do unintentionally chipped nails all the time, as I can't keep a mani for more than 2 days. But I wouldn't do it deliberately!

Ew- I agree with most people; this is disgusting! part of a great manicure is looking polished and neat. I can not stand chipped nails. I suppose this could look cool in an edgy fashion shoot, but no where else!

I wouldn't do it on my own nails, I have beautiful hands and keeping my nails neat adds a great deal to my self-confidence. But I like the idea very much indeed.

hate it! was just thinking the other day how i hate when i see girls with bright nailpolish thats chipped and like halfway on the nails. makes them look stubby

i like the way it looks (it reminds me of the 90s) but i wouldn't pay for it... after a night of work my nails usually look like that for free :)

i don't think this is a good look at all, but it is especially bad in that green color. i don't think i could come up with a worse combo, unless it was chipped yellow painted nails - which makes them look even more unhealthy.

I'm wearing chipped nails in a midnight blue color right now, albeit unintentionally:-( It doesn't look right to me, nail polish should be flawless and unchipped. Otherwise, what's the point? And why on earth would anyone pay for a shoddy manicure? Just wait a day or two, do the dishes, the chipping will come, trust me.
