Are You Tired of Celebrity Fragrances?

I can barely keep up with all the celebrity fragrances this fall: There's Sarah Jessica Parker Covet, M by Mariah Carey, Britney Spears Believe, Christina Aguilera, Intimately Beckham and Paris Hilton Can Can—to name just a few. Soon, we'll also have new scents from Daisy Fuentes, Kylie Minogue, Naomi Campbell, Celine Dion, Kate Moss, Carmen Electra, Jessica Simpson and Paula Abdul. (And let's not forget Antonio Banderas for the guys!)

Some commenters have said they're sick of celebrity scents, but someone's buying them. Are you excited about these fragrances, or are you over it?

Yes, I don't care for Perfume. People abuse it. Clean skin, soap, shampoo are nice and light smelling.I do not want to be dominated by people nor scents...

The type of celebrity that releases fragrances under his/her name is not the type that is doing anything worthwhile. They do this to feel validated.

some of them REALLY do represent the celebs' personalities (definitely not britney's). and yes, i do buy celeb fragrances., some of em are actually really nice. :)

I won't buy celeb fragrances -- who wants to smell like Paris or Britney? That's just disturbing.

Seriously sick of celeb fragrances! Let's leave of fragraces to the real perfume houses. I don't feel like enabling spoiled celebs like b. spears.

I am tired of it. I agree with spygirl658, it's different when a celebrity actually expresses their interest in pursuing it. Some celebrities just want to slap their name on anything in hopes of cash pouring in.

Even if it is the best smelling perfume ever, I won't buy it if it's a celebrity fragrance. They all say they are "highly involved" in the scent making process--but you know they aren't. Anything to make a buck...

I COVET the day that companies stop handing out wads of cash to celebs to put their face on a fragrance/clothing line. I agree it's gotten *way* out of hand!!!It's one thing when celebs who have a genuine, lifelong dream to create a fragrance (Sarah Jessica Parker and "Lovely") or clothing line (Gwen Stefani and "L.A.M.B.").It's simply GREED when other celebs jump on the "designer" bandwagon.Hey, that's a perfectly appropriate name for a celebrity fragrance, dontcha think? GREED. In a big green bottle. heh.

I have yet to find a celeb frangrance that smells great. They all smell cheap and are marked up to match up with Dior and Calvin Klein and such but definately do not hold a candle to the wonderful scents from the upscale designers. You are only paying for the celebrity name and that is just ridiculous. I don't won't to support Britney or Mariah anymore than I already have. And I sure do not want to pay high end retail for a scent that smells like I purchased from Walmart or the Dollar Tree for that matter. They all STINK!!! This has been going on for years but lately its just become overrated. Think about it ladies of the 80's - we had Debbie Gibson scents (Electic and another frangrance I beleive) and Paula Abdul had a scent out called Spellbound. This has been going on for sometime. I am so sick of it!!!

Believe...in the power of Photoshop! If that perfume can make you drop 10 lbs, reveal a 6 pack, and regrow a beautiful head of hair in place of gnarly extensions, get me a bottle ASAP. What I hate about celeb fragrances is that they usually know nothing about fragrances or have any involvement in making them. Seriously, does Britney or Paris even know what a top note is????
