Multitonal eye makeup has become a red-carpet staple, but choosing a flattering color combination can be tricky. It doesn't have to be all guesswork, though. There are a few hues that work together beautifully on brown eyes. To check out the colors that will make your irises (and skin tone) look amazing, just keep reading.
Almost every time Ziyi Zhang appears at an event, she looks like a latter-day incarnation of Audrey Hepburn. Take today in Tokyo, for instance. Ziyi showed up at an Omega watch launch wearing one of the most elegant daytime hairstyles possible, with understated makeup and enormous (though simple) diamond studs to match. OK, so we might not be able to afford her jewelry, but her hairstyle is eminently doable.
To find out how to re-create the style, just keep reading.
Cat-eye liner is never out of style, but it's having a huge red carpet resurgence right now, and celebrities (with their stylists' help, of course) are coming up with increasingly cool and unique new takes on the classic look. Recently, I've seen a ton of gorgeous new looks on some of Hollywood's loveliest ladies, and since the rest of us don't have Pat McGrath to help us out, I decided to do step-by-step breakdowns for 10 of the best looks I've seen lately, so that you can do them yourself at home. They're pretty, sexy, edgy, and perfect for a holiday party. Are you as excited as I am? Then just click through.
Ziyi may have gone with a black dress, but her Giorgio Armani couture number is anything but simple. Intricate cross-hatching, pinwheel florals, and sparkles adorn everything from head-to-toe. Black once again proves to be the most dramatic of all.
It's a treat to see Chinese actress Ziyi Zhang at events — she always looks so elegant. Her eyes look sultry with hazy purple and gray tones, while her classic chignon shows off an amazing pair of jeweled earrings. I can't find even the slightest quibble with her look; it's a shame we don't get to see her style more often!
So someone did show up in the Armani Prive dress on my Oscars red carpet wish list, but it was the wrong person! Instead of Diane Kruger, actress Ziyi Zhang wore the bright blue ruffle gown from the Spring '08 collection. Ziyi pulls it off but Diane would have made it look spectacular spectacular. Do you agree?
