While some of us were still watching the Oscars, Zooey Deschanel moved on to the Vanity Fair afterparty. Her voluminous curls gave us flashbacks to the '70s. Hairstylist Shelley Brien started by drying Zooey's hair with a medium round brush and Pantene Pro-V Stylers All-in-One Styling Balm ($6). Then, she used small hot rollers starting two inches from the root, so the crown stayed smooth (but Brien later backcombed the roots for oomph). She ran a brush through the curls and then spritzed Advanced+Keratin KeraGloss Oil Mist ($15).

"The inspiration for the look was 1970s Hollywood glamour," said her makeup artist for the night, Jorjee Douglass. "I was really inspired by Zooey's Dior printed dress and '70s waves." The look started with the Vbeauté Undercover Agent Serum ($45). Then Douglass applied a shimmering gray eye shadow, Elizabeth Arden Anchors Away ($21), on lids and under the lower lash line. The cheeks were accented with a rosy blush and highlighter. To finish, Douglass used Luminous Lip Gloss in Sunset ($18) — a new favorite for the makeup pro.
