The Teen Choice Awards can always be counted on for sightings of fresh-faced up-and-comers — along with a few A-listers, too, of course. This year's red carpet had plenty of bright colors and cat eyes (plus a straight-from-the-runway ponytail). See all the details up close with our zoom feature. It's all right here.
Lady Gaga's Perfume Campaign Is Typically Risqué
Little by little, Lady Gaga is revealing more about her new perfume — and revealing more of herself in the process. This afternoon, Gaga tweeted a preview of the campaign for Fame:
i won't lie I'm a bit nervous. its been a while since i've shared some work with you. But i'm so proud of Steven+I, we really did not sleep!
Shot by Steven Klein, who directed Gaga's "Alejandro" video in 2010, the ad leans darker than many fragrance campaigns. It's a fitting move for Fame, whose juice is black in the bottle but turns clear when sprayed. And for Lady Gaga, it's just a teaser for the bigger campaign to come.
Fergie's New Project Is Wet n Wild
You can pretty much count on Fergie having a cool manicure, which is why her latest endeavor seems almost inevitable. Earlier this year, the pop superstar inked a deal with Wet n Wild cosmetics, and now she's developed a line of nail polish colors for the drugstore brand staple. Like Fergie herself, her hues aren't for wallflowers; colors include lime green, hot pink, metallics, and glittery top coats. And with each bottle priced at a reasonable $3.50, having g-l-a-m-o-r-o-u-s hands was never so easy.
What We're Sweet On: A Kit That Nails It All
Ever take a glimpse at your at-home manicure and wonder why it doesn't look quite like the salon version? Perfecting a DIY nail look is all about technique (learn more here) and the right supplies. That's why we love Deborah Lippmann's Fast Track kit ($35), which contains five manicure essentials: cuticle remover, cuticle oil, a nail primer, a base coat, and a quick-dry top coat. These are the same formulas she uses on her A-list clients such as Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, and Salma Hayek. So while this kit won't magically imbue you with her precise skills, these formulas can certainly put a shine on every step of your manicure.

These multitasking products combine the best of skin care (hydration, antioxidants, sun protection) with cosmetic benefits (a brighter, more even-toned complexion). Which one will be right for you? We've tried nine to find out, so read on.

How to Create the Perfect Vintage Updo

Vintage hairstyles are eternally popular for weddings, but a too-literal interpretation can leave a bride with a serious case of helmet head. So what's the key to borrowing from the past without looking stuck in it? Texture and movement. "The perfectly coiffed updo is outdated," says Dani Weidner, a stylist who worked at Robert James Color in San Francisco. "Imperfect is best."
To balance contemporary trends with a retro influence, Weidner designed this '20s-inspired updo. A defined curl and thick roll give a nod to the past, but the overall look feels fresh and current. It's an ideal style for brides — and it's one you can do at home. To get the look, read on for pictures and step-by-step instructions.
6 Stories of Bridezillas Gone Wild

We sounded the call for your tales of beauty bridezillas, and you answered. Here, six stories of brides whose behavior turned a bit monstrous. Have a horror story of your own? Send it to bellabridezillas@gmail.com. (Anonymity guaranteed.)
Color coordinated
A friend of mine was obsessed with getting her wedding featured on a popular wedding blog. Every detail was meticulously planned, and everything had to be exactly how she wanted it. Lots of brides choose color palettes, but she sent out the precise Pantone colors of the bridesmaids' dresses — along with suggested complementary colors for our jewelry and lipstick. A little picky, but not a big deal for the wedding party, right? But then she advised guests on what to wear, sending out a PDF with color combinations and her preferred fabrics. In the end, the wedding blog published her photos, but she developed a new reputation among friends as Mrs. Control Freak. More bridezilla stories this way.
Fifty Shades of Grey Makeup May Be on the Way
The fever for Fifty Shades of Grey shows no signs of abating, with the spank-and-wank trilogy already being turned into a movie. Soon, smelling and looking like Anastasia Steele could become reality, as cosmetics inspired by the book may be on their way. The book trilogy, represented by Caroline Mickler Agency, is embarking on a product licensing spree that could include everything from "adult products" to fragrances and cosmetics. No details have been whipped into shape just yet, but the agency is currently taking appointments at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas — which means it's probably only a matter of time before E.L. James's story inspires a host of beauty products.
Ruffian's Vampy Manicure May Be the Easiest You'll Ever Wear

No manicure says classic glamour quite like a half-moon design, but most of us don't have the time to get the ovals perfectly precise. That's where Ruffian's collaboration with MAC comes in. The fashion duo has partnered with the makeup giant before, but this time, the endeavor extends to three sets of ready-to-go manicures. Each set ($25) has 24 preglued, presized nails with tips and moons created by designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais. Sure, you could break out the nail art kit and create a half-moon look on your own (here's how). And you could always re-create the Spring 2011 runway manicure that inspired these premade nails. But if you're looking for flawless results in a fraction of the time, why would you go any other way?
What We're Sweet On: Moroccanoil's Body Care Collection

In salons from Miami to Montana, from New York to New Mexico, it's pretty much impossible to find a stylist who doesn't rave about Moroccanoil treatment. Their devotion to the argan oil-infused hair serum is warranted, too; just a drop or two makes hair sleek, smooth, and enviably shiny. Now, the brand is moving into body care as well, with a five-piece collection that aims to do for skin what it's done for hair. Like its sister products, these new goods are infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil, adding shea butter and vitamin E for their skin-nourishing benefits. But as much as we love how soft the body soufflé leaves our legs, it's the classic-in-the-making scent that has us lathering and slathering up like crazy. If you're looking to bring a hint of the hammam home, look no further. From $10 at Blue Mercury.
Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Are Launching a Cosmetics Line
First it was fragrance, and now the Kardashians are branching out further into the world of beauty. Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney are launching Khroma Beauty, a cosmetics collection of "luxury products at affordable pricing." Set to launch in 2013, the makeup line will bow with a holiday preview of lashes, mascaras, and Kardazzle compacts.
"Makeup is something that all three of us have always been passionate about so we could not be more thrilled about this new venture in our career," Khloe wrote today. Look for the line in Ulta later this year, and expect YouTube makeup tutorials from the sisters and their glam squad around the same time.
Summer Hair Advice That Blondes Need to Know
If there's an iconic hair color for summertime, it's a perfectly sun-kissed blond. But sun and water can take their toll on blondes, especially if you color your hair. To steer you away from brassiness and faded color, we called on Marie Robinson, Clairol Color Director. The colorist for some of Hollywood's biggest stars, she's a fan of Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Color Blend Foam. (She used it on us!) Here, she shares her top tips for keeping blond hair, well, blond.
Moisturize and condition
You know those shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair? Use them — they're specially formulated for your needs, and moisturized hair will keep its color better. "I also recommend spritzing your hair with a leave-in conditioner before swimming or spending extended amounts of time outdoors," Robinson says.
Go clear
Believe it or not, some styling products could shift your color. "When conditioning or moisturizing your hair to protect against dehydration, make sure you use products that are white or clear in color," Robinson advises. Products with a hue, such as olive oil or argan oil, can make light hair more yellow with repeated use.
Rinse
Here's another good reason to shower before hitting the pool: rinsing your hair beforehand can help protect color. "Dry hair typically absorbs more chlorine than wet hair," Robinson explains. So get wet before you get wet, and you'll avoid discoloration.
Cover
The easiest way to protect your hair color, of course, is to keep the sun's rays from ever reaching it. This season, hats are hugely popular — and you'll protect your face from the sun, too. Not into hair accessories? "Simply throwing your hair up into an updo will help to reduce sun over-exposure," Robinson says.

Why More Women Are Choosing Natural Hair
For an increasing number of women, relaxers are out and natural hair is in. As filmmaker Zina Saro-Wiwa shows in this minidocumentary, more and more Black women are making the transition from chemically treated hair to their natural texture. Saro-Wiwa herself appears in the film, initially shaving off her braided extensions for a video project. "I can see myself getting uglier," she quips, perhaps only half joking. Seven months later, to her surprise, she's growing out her natural hair — and she loves it.
From there, she became "obsessed" with natural curls, falling in love with her own hair texture. In the film, she speaks with a number of women whose natural hair runs the gamut from tight to fluffy, from kinky to wavy, from closely cropped to big and bountiful. "There are as many 'natural hair journeys' as there are transitioning women," Saro-Wiwa writes. And as she captures in this film, there are so many ways that natural hair is beautiful.
Celebrities Go Bare-Bones For Kiehl's (And a Good Cause)
Ever wonder why Kiehl's stores have a skeleton on display? Originally, "Mr. Bones" was used to educate people about their ailments (and, of course, on how the onetime pharmacy's offerings could help them). Now, Mr. Bones is getting a makeover — 13 of them, to be exact — as photographers, designers, singers, and other artistic types lend their talents for a good cause. Alicia Keys, Zach Galifianakis, Terry Richardson, Padma Lakshmi, and other creatives have designed their own skeletons for the project; in return, Kiehl's is donating $200,000 to organizations supporting children, the environment, and HIV/AIDS causes of their choosing. The skeletons will be on display in New York-area Kiehl's boutiques, but if you can't see them in person, hop online for photos and videos — along with the chance to design your own virtual Mr. Bones for a chance to win prizes. Read on to see all of the skeletal artworks, plus information on the charities and organizations that are benefiting from Mr. Bones.

What We're Sweet On: Monica Bellucci's Lipstick

When it comes to the world's most famous beauties, Monica Bellucci frequently represents Italy on the list. The 47-year-old actress is an international sex symbol not just because of her voluptuous curves, but also because of the palpable intelligence she conveys in her films and interviews. (If there's a heterosexual man who isn't attracted to Monica Bellucci, we haven't met him.) She's sexy, smart, glamorous, and womanly — which may be why Dolce & Gabbana tapped her as the new face of its cosmetics line earlier this year. Now, she's the muse for their newest lipsticks ($32), designed with the help of legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath. The six shades range from a cardinal red to soft petal pink, but our pick is Only Monica, an incredibly versatile candy-sweet pink. But you don't need to be a fan to find a reason to pucker up; the softly scented formula is highly pigmented, with enough color to persevere through a morning macchiato. Bellissima.
Milla Jovovich Shares Her New Big Project (and Her Look)

You might know Milla Jovovich as a model and actress, but her talents don't end there; she's a singer and musician, too. Last night, at a Chopard and L'Oréal Paris bash, Milla shared a bit about her new synth-pop single, "Electric Sky," which she debuted at the Life Ball in Vienna. "It's really exciting," she said of her forthcoming EP. "It was me and my two closest friends. We just did it in my home studio, on the computer." Next up? An accompanying video, which, like the single, will be available online for free. In the meantime, we'll settle for borrowing her summery makeup palette. She wore L'Oréal's Infallible eye shadow in Amber Rush and Infallible Le Rouge lipstick in Charismatic Coral. Like just about everything else Milla puts together, it's a beautifully unconventional pairing.
