Last week, the celebrities taught a lesson in eye-brightening makeup techniques. Michelle Trachtenberg, Selita Ebanks, and Vanessa Hudgens were all spotted with illuminating shadow shades that can work on all skin tones.
Fair Skin: If you have a fair complexion, a white eyeliner like Shu Uemura's Eye Light Pencil White ($25) is a must have for your eye makeup kit. At Madonna's Fashion Evolution Pop-Up Exhibit, Michelle wore a shimmering shade on the bottom corners of her eyes, which was blended with royal blue liner underneath. Also, try applying the liner in the lower waterline to get a doe-eyed effect.
Medium Skin: For medium skin tones, take a note from Vanessa Hudgens's makeup look also from Madonna's Fashion Evolution Pop-Up Exhibit. She wore a pearlescent shadow like L'Oréal Infallible Eyeshadow in Endless Pearl on the inner corners of her eye and underneath. The iridescent shadow balances the inky black of her eyeliner and offers a brightening effect.
Dark Skin: At the Nylon cover celebration Selita Ebanks proved that dark lipstick can (and should) be worn in the Spring, but to counter the deep hue, she wore a shimmering taupe shadow like Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Tough as Taupe ($11.95) from her lash line to her brows. It's the ideal colour to draw light to the eyes on darker complexions.
