Pinterest has breathed new life into beauty DIYs, and we've put a few to the test. Turns out, most are easy to re-create and are quite useful to boot. Consider them life hacks for your beauty regimen. Some of our favorites include a magnetic makeup board, homemade shaving cream, and a chocolate facial. Check out our top DIY videos here.
Braids, plaits, interlaces — whatever you call them, they're gorgeous and always give off a bohemian vibe. A regular braid is a great go-to, but why not kick yourself into high gear with our braid boot camp? Think of it as Braid 101. Learn how to master the fishtail braid (which we've seen Selena Gomez wearing a lot lately), the dutch braid — sister to the french braid — and the four-strand braid.
Before long, you'll have these down pat and will be ready to move on to the braid big leagues: waterfall braids, upside-down topknot braids — the options are endless.
The bun might be your go-to hairstyle when you're trying to keep your hair out of your face. But this twisted style can also be equally chic and beautiful, too, like the top knot, chignon, and even the clever sock bun. Now you can also add the rose bun to your repertoire this holiday season, with this tutorial that's not as difficult as it looks. Learn each of the steps, and get ready to wow everyone at your next party.

The smoky eye is an iconic, classic beauty look that will never go out of style, and with the holidays coming up, it's always nice to have a refresher course. CK One Color Global Makeup Artist Kayleen McAdams — who works on beauties like Jessica Biel, Sofia Vergara, and her sister, Rachel McAdams — stopped by to show us how to get a jewel-toned smoky eye in two minutes.
Demi Lovato is no stranger to bold, eye-catching beauty looks. Take note of her aquamarine hair and bevy of impressive nail art designs, for instance. And this November, you can re-create some of Demi's signature manicure styles. In between judging The X Factor, appearing on Glee, and preparing for her tour, she found time to collaborate with The New Black on five limited-edition nail art kits, so you can DIY your own Demi-esque manicure.
Each of the five kits showcases looks designed by Demi's manicurist, Stephanie Stone, which are rather easy to do yourself. Highlights of the collaboration include In Love, a vibrant, five-piece violet kit with glitter polish and diamond studs, and Shattered, a three-piece kit with gold studs and brush-on foil. You can get each of these five kits starting Nov. 4 exclusively at Ulta — just in time for the holidays.

The newest beauty buzz word? Beauty shots! These elixirs give you the same benefits as your favorite face cream or serum, but because you can ingest them, you reap the benefits more quickly than applying them topically. There are plenty of drinkable beauty options on the market, but one shot that's gaining mass popularity is the collagen shot. Try LAC's Taut shots ($110 for eight) to boost your collagen production and create firmer, more supple skin. A UK favorite includes The Beauty Molecule (inquire for pricing) from Fountain, which you can mix with your favorite juice for a once-a-day beauty pick-me-up.

ShopStyle has everything you need to put this look together, like a makeup kit that includes the white cream pigment for your face and the blood to drip from your mouth. You'll also need something to seduce your next victim into your arms. Make a statement with a deep shade of burgundy or violet for your lips, which will make your skin appear even more pale.
For the eyes, go for sunken-in chic and apply dark purple and black shadow on the top lid, extend out to your temple, and bring it underneath your eyes, just above the cheekbones. Create drama by adding faux lashes, and keep them in place with a few coats of mascara.
And don't skip the manicure! Go for a pop of bright red or even try a matte wine shade. Then, keep everything in place with a makeup-setting spray while you dance the night away.
Contouring and highlighting your face is the perfect way to accentuate your best features — and it can help diminish those things you'd like to mask. But the hardest part isn't how to apply the products, but rather knowing which ones to use. Learn what the must-have products are and what to avoid, so you can highlight and contour like a pro. A skeleton is a tried and true Halloween costume, but instead of taking the easy route, learn how to make an intricate, painted-on skull that looks as realistic as, well, a living skeleton. You'll only need three products to get this look, and while it might not be as simple as wearing a mask, it's rather easy to re-create.
Just because the weather is getting cooler doesn't mean we stop shaving. And while one's so-called relationship with the razor can be a slippery one, debunking a few myths about what happens when you shave can help get you to your smoothest shave ever. So, does your hair really grow back thicker and darker? Are new blades the best to use? And where should you store your razor? We're breaking it all down. On Kirbie: Rae Francis top
One of the most whimsical Halloween costumes is the enchanting fairy. Searching online, you might find a lot of green makeup looks, but to get the full fairy look, you can experiment with hues of purple and pink. Find the longest lashes you can muster, some pigment, and a flower crown, and you're all set. The real key to this look is extending the shadow past your eyelids and above your brows but also bringing it underneath the eyes, similar to a painted-on mask. Expert tip: create texture on the "mask" by splattering a mix of isopropyl alcohol and pigment on the skin with a mascara wand or toothbrush — just be sure to keep your eyes closed during the process.
