How Anne Hathaway Is Working Her Blonde Hair

It was mere days ago that Anne Hathaway debuted her blonde hair at the Met Gala, but the actress is already showing us that she knows how to style it. Anne stepped out yesterday with a very different hairstyle than she'd worn to the punk-themed Met Gala. Her pixie cut was blow dried smooth and silky, creating a slight wispy bang that swept across her forehead. Reminiscent of the look model Twiggy wore in the '60s, this demure coif was quite a departure from the high-volume bouffant Anne donned on the red carpet on Tuesday. With such diversity this early on, we're looking forward to seeing what Anne does next.

Update Your Ombré For Spring Like Jada Pinkett Smith

Still not willing to let go of your ombré locks?

Still not willing to let go of your ombré locks? Lucky for you, this ever-popular and universally flattering hair colour trend is constantly evolving, and Jada Pinkett Smith showed off a fresh way to rock the highlights that we love. The actress stepped out back in April sporting a toned-down version of the coloured ends, opting for chocolatey highlights that start a couple of inches from her roots. The highlights then slowly meander into full-on colour at her ends.

Jada's ombré isl a great option for two reasons. First, the highlights start higher up on the hair, making them more subtle. Secondly, the less-contrasting colour helps make this look the perfect transitional ombré. So put your anxiety aside; ombré isn't going anywhere.

What We're Sweet On: A Sexy, Glossy Lip Stain

When it comes to lip colors, stains can be too drying, glosses are often tacky, and lipsticks wind up halfway across your cheek in no time.

When it comes to lip colors, stains can be too drying, glosses are often tacky, and lipsticks wind up halfway across your cheek in no time. So how do you reconcile? With Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Stained Gloss ($18, available May 23), the easy-to-apply formula glides on like a gloss and sticks like a stain. But the best part about it is that it doesn't dry your lips out like a stain usually does. That means no feathering or flaking, just stay-all-day pigment that won't slip around your lips. And its 100 percent vegan formula makes it a great buy for everyone — especially if no-fuss beauty is your mantra.

The hair and makeup at the Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is consistently some of the best of the year. And with a theme centering around the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit, high drama was a must-have look. But surprisingly, the best looks of the evening ran the gamut of sophisticated rebel to all-out rocker. Sarah Jessica Parker wowed the red carpet congregation with an over-the-top Trojan headpiece that was nestled among a twisting collection of fishtail braids. Nicole Richie was also a surprising arrival, sporting a wispy, gray beehive that was part powdered wig and part punk. Speaking of wigs, Madonna opted for a Bettie Page-inspired hairpiece, complete with short, blunt bangs.

Moving on to the blondes of the ball, Sienna Miller went all-out grunge with a seriously textured hairstyle embellished with a studded hairpiece, inky black liner, and a nude lipstick. And in one of the more jaw-dropping moments of the evening, Anne Hathaway stunned with a peroxide blonde bouffant, accented with lavender shadow and loads of liner. Met Gala Beauty: Anne Hathaway's Peroxide Blond Hair

Anne Hathaway dyed her hair peroxide blond for the Met Gala red carpet. In one of the more punk moments of the evening, Anne showed up with a hair color that rendered her almost unrecognizable. A sexy smoky eye brought the Debbie Harry-inspired look to another level.

To achieve Anne's hair, celebrity stylist Sascha Breuer applied a golf-ball-sized amount of Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mousse to her damp hair. He then rough-dryed her strands with his fingers, sweeping the longer hair back and upwards and pulling the sides tightly back. Using Wella Professionals Bold Move styling paste, Breuer ran his fingers through the midlength and ends for a mussy texture. He finished with a mist of Well Professionals Stay Firm Finishing Spray.
