Cat Power: Why Kitties Are the Big Beauty Trend

After years of being mocked, cat ladies may have the last laugh — at least when it comes to the beauty world.

After years of being mocked, cat ladies may have the last laugh — at least when it comes to the beauty world. Cutesy kitties popped up on Miu Miu's spring 2010 runway, and now they're heading to your makeup bag. Paul & Joe have limited-edition cat-head lipsticks, while MAC's newest collection is inspired by Burmese and Russian Blue cats. Then again, Stila's always had a hit with Kitten, its shimmery pink cult-fave eye shadow. Feeling feline? Click the photos to check out some of the catty offerings.

Paint the Town Red: Nail Polishes Named After Cities

There are many different inspirations for nail polish names.

There are many different inspirations for nail polish names. China Glaze's classic, For Audrey, for instance, is a tribute to Audrey Hepburn. And then there's the newly announced Mad Men line, inspired by the TV show. There are even loads of polishes named after cities. Recently, OPI launched its Swiss Collection, a tribute to the fine country of Switzerland, that includes a rich ruby hue dubbed From A to Z-Urich ($7). And there are plenty more where that came from. Find out more about these city-inspired polishes above when you read more.

The Sneaky Gal's Walk of Shame Preparedness Kit

A wise man once told me that he didn't believe in the walk of shame, because there's nothing for which to be ashamed.

A wise man once told me that he didn't believe in the walk of shame, because there's nothing for which to be ashamed. And while I agree with his sentiments, sometimes there's no avoiding feeling a little less than put-together after a fun night out. Since "unshowered and stale" isn't the kind of Facebook status update you probably want to have, I've put together a clever kit of products, all in sizes small enough to stay inconspicuous without cluttering up your purse. To find out more about these goods, just wave your cursor over each one.

Estelle Sports Bold Purple Lips in Her New Video

Estelle's new video for "Falling in Love" has her hanging out with Nas and John Legend while rocking some of the sweetest purple lipstick we've seen in a long time.

Estelle's new video for "Falling in Love" has her hanging out with Nas and John Legend while rocking some of the sweetest purple lipstick we've seen in a long time. Like last year's black lipstick trend, purple is extremely striking, but unlike its darker counterpart, it can look cool and edgy without being severe. It's also a neutral shade, so it works on lots of different skin tones. Depending on how bold you want to get with it, you can wear anything from a tinted balm to a creamy aubergine lipstick. Above are three of our purple picks.

If you have a vanity or even a dresser that's looking a little blah, here are a few fun ways you can spruce it up a bit. A decorative mirror, vintage-inspired brush or atomizer, or cute powder puff will class up your joint, while a fanciful tray makes a great home for your beauty goods. (On a tight budget? Hit a flea market for one-of-a-kind finds.) Earlier, most of you said you get ready in the bathroom in the morning, but do these embellished goods have you changing your mind?

The Hills

The Hills Beauty Quiz: Episode 10, "Something Old, Something New"

Last night another season of The Hills came to a close, and I'm a little sad to say goodbye — especially since this was Lauren's last episode.

Last night another season of The Hills came to a close, and I'm a little sad to say goodbye — especially since this was Lauren's last episode. But boy, did she go out with a bang. She quit her job, moved out of her mansion, even attended Heidi's wedding. Lauren seemed a little unsure about her future, but I'm sure she'll do just fine. MTV Movie Awards: Hayden Panettiere

There's no getting around the fact that Hayden Panettiere has flawless skin.

There's no getting around the fact that Hayden Panettiere has flawless skin. She consistently wows on every red carpet. For instance, she shined at this year's Golden Globe Awards, where her makeup artist used Neutrogena Natural Radiance Bronzer in sunkissed. My bet is that she used something similar tonight. Beyond that gorgeous glow, her hair is simple and classic, and her eyes pop with the dark liner and lavender shadow. Are you digging?

ANTM Beauty Quiz: "America's Next Top Model Is…"

Another season of America's Next Top Model has come and gone, and I have to say I'm a little sad to see it go.

Another season of America's Next Top Model has come and gone, and I have to say I'm a little sad to see it go. Sure, it wasn't my favorite cycle. Sure, it was mostly a bore. But I grew to like some of the final three, namely Allison ("Jealous"). Per usual, the finale didn't have much spark, but I loved seeing the girls walk the catwalk and a little mud wrestling (is that what it was?) never hurt anyone. Ready for the last beauty quiz of the season?

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Kate Bosworth

It seems that Kate Bosworth may have used old Hollywood as her inspiration — instead of the models as her muse — for her look tonight.

It seems that Kate Bosworth may have used old Hollywood as her inspiration — instead of the models as her muse — for her look tonight. She was the spitting image of Veronica Lake. Her long, open curls called to mind the actress of the '40s, and her makeup was just as stunning (though not as reminiscent since Lake's films were in black-and-white). What do you think of Miss Bosworth's glamorous look? Do you like that she tried something more retro, or would you have preferred a more current look like Rihanna?

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Leighton Meester

Leighton's look might seem silly, but in all seriousness, she decided to take a risk tonight, and that's what the Costume Gala is all about (did you see Madonna?). So I applaud the effort. She really tried to match her overall look to her costume-y ensemble, and for that she succeeded. Knowing that this is an extravagant gala, are you liking her look? Or do you prefer Lively?

The Met's Costume Institute Gala: Blake Lively

Well I guess we know who won't be watching tonight's Gossip Girl and taking our GG beauty quiz: Blake Lively.

Well I guess we know who won't be watching tonight's Gossip Girl and taking our GG beauty quiz: Blake Lively. She's too busy rocking the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala. Her dress was sexed-up, while her hair and makeup tried to match the tone. The sleek, pulled-back hair was in opposition to her usual tousled curls, which I found refreshing. Her makeup, overall, looked just as put-together. The skin was flawless with a slight tan, leaving the attention to her pale-pink lips and heavily-lined eyes. Also, it may be an illusion, but her eyes look like an exact match to her dress. Do you like Lively's look, or do you prefer her as Miss van der Woodsen?
