The Must-See Beauty Looks From This Year's Met Gala

The day we've all been waiting for is finally here: the Met Gala 2023. Taking place on the first Monday in May, it's like the fashion and beauty equivalent of the Super Bowl, making it a must-attend event for some of the biggest stars all over the world. But gaining an exclusive invite to Anna Wintour's big celebration is only half the battle — then it's time to get to work and come up with a truly showstopping look to debut on those famous steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The theme for this year's gala is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," meaning celebrities and their glam teams are expected to wear something that pays tribute to the late designer. History has shown that this typically goes one of two ways: some stars follow the theme to a T, while others use it as loose inspiration before going off on their own path.

Though the decided queen of the Met Gala herself, Blake Lively, is missing from attendance, choosing instead to be "watching," as she told People, plenty of other stars showed up and showed out. Tonight, Emily Ratajkowski turned heads as soon as she stepped on the red carpet wearing micro bangs, one of the hottest beauty trends of the moment. Quinta Brunson also looked amazing in a structural updo, pairing it with styled baby hairs. And Dua Lipa looked like the belle of the ball in a classic french manicure. But that's only the beginning.

Ahead, we rounded up some of the best beauty looks of the Met Gala 2023 so far. Keep scrolling to see the amazing hair, makeup, and nails that graced the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art this year.
