This $10 Body Wash Smells Like a TikTok-Famous Luxury Version

If there's one fragrance note that has taken this year by storm, it is undoubtedly Palo Santo. While this ingredient has been used by Indigenous cultures for centuries, its popularity has boomed on TikTok, with countless users raving about the bold and rich scent. Of course, I had to see if this affordable product was the real deal. Luckily, the body wash was easy to find since it's sold at Target. Upon seeing the product, the first thing I noticed was how big the bottle is. (It can hold 16 fluid ounces as opposed to luxury brand products, which usually only offers eight ounces of product.) On top of that, I also really like the bottle itself, which is defined by a sleek dark brown container that looks like it belongs in a five-star hotel shower.

After assessing the physical aspects, it was time to move to the most important part: The scent test. With just one whiff, it was confirmed that this product is in fact the best dupe for Palo Santo-scented luxury products out there. It has the same fresh, musky, woodsy, and intoxicating scent as my pricey, TikTok-famous perfume (yes, I, too, was influenced early on to buy it), but for a fraction of the cost.

I quickly hurried home to try the body wash in the shower, and I was just as impressed by the formula as I was by the scent. The soap is very rich and easy to lather. Plus, a little goes a long way so you don't have to douse yourself in it to feel clean. After drying off, I noticed that the aroma of the body wash smelled like I has just spritzed myself in perfume.

Ultimately, what I love most about this body wash is that the smell lasts for hours after use. Additionally, the formula itself is rich and creamy and feels amazing on the skin. It's also made with marula oil, which delivers long-lasting hydration.

This body wash has a very strong aroma when you first apply it. Because the smell leans a bit more masculine, I was worried that it would be overpowering and that I would smell like those guys in high school who put on too much Axe body spray. Luckily, that was not the case. The scent tapered down a bit after I dried off, and lasted on my skin for about three hours post-shower.

I also think this product is perfect for people who want to elevate their shower products without going overboard.
