Dua Lipa's "Washed-Denim" Eye Makeup Completes Her Leather Look

"Washed-denim" eyes are a hot new winter makeup trend, and Dua Lipa is already a fan. On Nov. 30, the "Sweetest Pie" singer attended the 36th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York City wearing her own version of the eye-makeup look that deserves to be on your inspiration board.

For the unfamiliar, washed-denim eye makeup came from the "denim revolution" we're seeing in fashion, as Cat Quinn, executive director of trends for MAC Cosmetics, previously told POPSUGAR. The makeup trend sees varying shades of blue shadow swept across the eyes for a look that's impactful yet, in a way, still neutral. Lipa opted to match her washed-denim eyes to her long blue patent-leather coat by using a smoky, silvery shade of blue. Heavy mascara and a touch of glitter finished off her eye look, while her lips were coated in a pinkish coral shade of lipstick and her skin had a luminous matte finish. To allow her eye makeup to really shine, her hair was pulled back into a sleek triple-braided ponytail.

If Lipa's past fashion choices are any indication — like that tiny denim miniskirt she wore earlier this month or the Blumarine denim dress from her "Future Nostalgia" Tour — it's clear the star is a big fan of the material. This makeup trend just makes sense for her. Take a closer look at Lipa's washed-denim eyes ahead.
