When the cold weather hits (OK, it's only 60 degrees in Los Angeles, but still), you can find me in one of two places: on the couch nestled under five blankets with the heater blasting, or in a piping-hot shower. I love an "everything" shower, and the cold weather gives me an excuse to stand in my tub while I simultaneously do a hair mask and have imaginary conversations with my future husband.

A few months ago, I was introduced to the Gntl Skin Wash ($38), and it quickly became the star of every shower I take. If you had told me last year that at the beginning of 2024, I would be waxing poetic about a body wash, I'm not sure I would have believed you. However, this one is truly worth the hype. It's a multiuse product (which is in for 2024), it smells great, and it cleanses my sensitive skin with ease. Trust me when I say you're going to want to try it, and your skin will love you for it.

What I Like About the Gntl Skin Wash

My skin is sensitive AF, and I've had issues with contact dermatitis, eczema, and yeast infections because of it. I never could quite figure out the cause — whether it was from my diet, the products I was using, stress, or a combination of all three — but it made me very conscientious of the formulas I was using, especially down there. Skin Wash is gentle enough that I haven't had a single skin-related issue since I started using it. Plus, it's pH-balanced, which I've learned is something my body really needs.

I'm not typically big on scented products, but this gel cleanser has just the right amount of fragrance with top notes of orange blossom and chamomile, middle notes of vanilla and honey, and base notes of sandalwood and tobacco blossom. It isn't overpowering, nor does it linger on my skin after I get out of the shower, but it makes for a calming lather in the moment.

How to Use the Gntl Skin Wash

As mentioned, this is a multiuse product, so it can be used to wash any part of the face or body. The brand recommends applying the cleanser directly onto hands, a washcloth, or loofah, then massaging onto the skin until there's a foamy lather. Then, rinse with warm water.

I've tested Skin Wash as a face wash, hand soap, makeup remover, and body wash, and I like it for every single purpose. However, it's become my go-to daily body wash. I keep the entire 1,000 ml package in my shower, but the packaging makes it super easy to fill up other bottles or containers with the cleanser, which I do when I'm traveling.

What to Consider Before Trying the Gntl Skin Wash

I don't like my body washes to be too foamy; I like a nice lather, but I don't like a bunch of bubbles. Skin Wash lathers nicely, but I'd give it a 3/5 on the foam scale. If you're looking for an ultra-foamy body wash, know that this isn't that. However, it suits me just fine.
