At last night's Golden Globe Awards, beauty was all about the lips. From bright reds (we see you, Dakota Fanning) to glassy pinks (Hello, Gaga!), celebrity makeup artists used a range of shades to put their best foot (or in this case, lip) forward. We scoured Instagram and slid into some very VIP artists' DMs to find out the exact shades some of our favorite actresses wore last night.

Updating your lipstick game is an easy and inexpensive way to quickly revamp your 2019 look, so scroll through and find your favorite shade below.

Gemma Chan in Clé de Peau Beauté

The entire cast of Crazy Rich Asians looked (unsurprisingly) crazy glam. Rising fashion icon Gemma Chan wore an insanely chic Valentino gown with a bow on the back that dreams are made of. Her makeup artist, Monika Blunder, picked up on the blue tones by using a deep, yet bright red, shade from Clé de Peau Beauté, 103 Legend ($65) from the Lipstick Cashmere line.

Thandie Newton's Michael Kors dress was a party on its own, so for her makeup, artist Georgie Eisdell stuck to a neutral, moisturizing shade: Chantecaille's Mirage Lipstick ($38).

Dakota Fanning in Charlotte Tilbury

Dakota Fanning in Charlotte Tilbury

It would be a sin to not have a Charlotte Tilbury shade in the mix of this list. Dakota Fanning's white Armani Prive dress would have looked bridal had makeup artist Erin Ayanian Monroe not offset it with a dramatic, classic matte red lip. This shade, Tilbury's K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Love Bite ($34), is a modern classic.

Lupita Nyong'o in Lancôme

Lupita Nyong'o in Lancôme

Lupita Nyong'o is a Lancôme ambassador, so it's no surprise her makeup artist, the renowned Nick Barose, opted for an entirely Lancôme look to go with her amazing Calvin Klein beaded dress. Barose picked up the bright tones from her dress and eyeliner by choosing a deep plum red from the brand's L'Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick range, #507, "Dramaatic" ($32).

Lady Gaga in Marc Jacobs Beauty

Lady Gaga paid tribute to the late Judy Garland with her Golden Globes gown, but as only Lady Gaga can, she gave the look a modern twist by matching her hair and makeup to the baby blue Valentino gown. But she wasn't too over the top. Gaga kept it classy. Makeup artist Sarah Tanno stuck with an ultra glossy pink lip from Marc Jacobs Beauty, Enamored Lip Lacquer in Sugar Sugar ($28).
