Kérastase Is Launching the First-Ever Smart Hair Brush

Brushing your hair will no longer be a boring task thanks to Kérastase. The L'Oreal-owned French haircare brand is launching a smart hairbrush, the first ever to market. The tool sounds totally rad, and may give you a reason to retire your Mason Pearson. Here's what we know so far about the product, called the Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings.

First of all, the brush has a microphone, which listens to the sound of strands being brushed and captures hair sound waves. It will use this data to identify patterns. Then, it can help you manage problems like frizz, dehydration, and split ends. Yeah, this brush is basically going to be your new best friend — the one who tells you the truth!

It also has sensors to detect if you're using it on wet or dry hair. This helps it give you a more accurate read. And by the way, the brush is splash proof, so don't worry too much if it gets a little wet.

There is a gyroscope technology to tell you if you're brushing too aggressively and an accelerometer to give insight on how many brush strokes you're doing. A vibrating handle further guides your brushing technique.

Once it collects all of this helpful feedback, it sends the information via WFfi or Bluetooth to a mobile app. Said app takes the data as well as environmental factors (humidity, wind, etc.) to give your hair quality a score. You'll receive data how how well you're doing brushing your hair, personalized tips about your routines, and customized Kérastase product picks.

The Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings launch is mid 2017 for $200 kerastase-usa.com. Watch it in action in the video below!
