You Can Now Get Perfect Airbrushed Skin in Minutes

The benefit of airbrush makeup is that your skin looks ***Flawless. No bouncing of a sponge, no leftover brush hairs, no hygiene issues to worry about. Just glowing, luminous skin via a fine makeup mist, with all imperfections camouflaged better than on a chameleon. And you can spot-correct, highlight, contour, and add blush with airbrush, too! But one downside is that it's not the easiest to travel with and takes up a bunch of space.
That's because airbrush systems have several components: the airbrush gun, cleaning tools, the hose, and a clunky compressor. Not to mention the foundation or bronzer you plan on using to create the look. It can be akin to packing a carry-on bag, if I do say so myself.
But Temptu, the brand behind the most popular at-home airbrush kit, just changed the way people use airbrush makeup. The Temptu Air ($195, out September) is a handheld device that creates a soft-focus finish without a hose or a separate compressor.
This is revolutionary in the world of makeup, mostly because nothing else like it exists. Really. I've had a chance to use the Temptu Air for the past few weeks, and I love how easy it is to use and the way my skin looks after the two-minute application. If you're a gadget and gizmo person, you'll adore it, too.

Airpod Installation
The Air weighs about as much as your Clarisonic brush and comes with three different settings. To get started, shake your Airpod ($35-$45) — the foundation container that's made for the gun — release the cap, and snap into the gun. Supereasy.

Coverage
From there, hold the power button to start the generator. Three lights will light up, indicating that it's on the highest setting, which delivers the heaviest makeup flow. Press the power button again for medium coverage (two lights) and again for light coverage (one light). When you finish with your makeup application, it will remember the last setting you used when you turn it back on.

Application
Application is just like other airbrush systems: hold it four to six inches away from your face, spray in circular motions, and voilà! The Airpods also come in formulas made for contouring, highlighting, and applying blush. I'd suggest starting on the lowest coverage, so you can build up if needed.

Clogging
With the separate compressor kit, I used to experience erratic airflow that caused the makeup not to mist out properly. I've yet to experience that issue with the Air model, though!

Charging
The Air comes with a USB port, which means you can charge it on the go! The battery charge lasts three weeks (give or take).

"After" Makeup Look
