You wouldn't know it by my extensive makeup collection, but I like to keep my everyday makeup routine pretty natural. That's not to say that I don't love eyeshadow and a bold lip color, but I tend to reserve those things for special occasions, which, over the last 12 months, has really only included outdoor dining escapades.

Even though my go-to makeup routine is natural-looking I wouldn't exactly call it "minimal" because I use around 10 products to get the job done. However, now that I discovered the new Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation, I decidedly can remove concealer from my everyday lineup.

Urban Decay's Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation ($29) has the look and feel of a tinted moisturizer — not a foundation. It has a thinner consistency with medium coverage, but the incredible hydration it gives your skin is what sets it apart from the rest. The key ingredients in it are kombucha filtrate, which is rich in antioxidants and helps brighten your skin tone, and marula oil, which is where the deep moisture comes from. It comes in 12 shades total — mine is 30 Light-Neutral — and the finish is soft and dewy, but not overly glowy in the way that it can be mistaken as shiny or oily. Seldom would I describe a foundation as genuinely enjoyable to wear, but I like this one so much I'm already excited to put it on again tomorrow.

Before and After Using the Urban Decay Hydromaniac Glowy Tinted Hydrator Foundation

To prep my skin, I put on Saie Sunvisor for sunscreen and then some primer, mainly under my eyes and on my T-zone. Then I applied a small amount of the foundation to my fingertips and blended it into my face. Even without using a brush or makeup sponge, the formula melts seamlessly into your skin. I could have stopped right there and been done with my makeup routine because my skin looked so damn good, but I kept going and finished off my face with bronzer, blush, highlighter, brow gel, pencil eyeliner, and mascara — but no concealer. I didn't need it because the foundation hid the acne marks that I have on my jaw and the dark spots under my eyes from staying up and watching too much WandaVision the night before. And because I didn't need to use concealer anywhere, I also didn't feel the need to set my face with powder.

I was so excited by the results that I FaceTimed my best friend (who is also a beauty editor) to show her my skin up close, and I screamed, "Look at my skin! Can you believe I'm not wearing any concealer?!"
