Whether it’s a teenage run-in with a tub of Manic Panic or a visit to a colorist who must have still been drunk from the night before, it’s pretty common to have a hair color disaster. Have you ever colored your hair, hated it, and had it colored again right away?

I'm a natural redhead. In my life I've had blonde streaks, brown streaks, and gone dark red/black. I'm back au natural now, and to get there I got the colour stripped from my hair, but I didn't ever re-dye it straight away.
I'm too afraid of frying my hair - so I wait the entire 2 weeks that's recommended.
I have never dyed my hair before.
My stylist has yet to do me wrong. I liked every color she gave me.
Absolutely. I once made a 4am run to Wal-Mart to buy dye to color over my hair, which had turned out bright freaking orange. My hair could take it.
I don't color anymore though. Too much upkeep.
I tried to streak my hair once, and it came out spotted. Oh yes.
Yes, a couple of times I have colored it myself it has came out orange-ish and I made the mad rush to the store with a baseball hat on. Horrible! Now I rely on my hair stylist.
I have dark brown, almost black hair and I tried going for the platinum blond streaks. Turns out, I look horrible and the color did not match my skin at all. It washed me out and I had to go out and buy dye. It was awful!!
Yep - this is why I will NEVER go to a friend to get my hair done (still paid $115!!): this very unprofessional girl applied color rather haphazardly, stuck me under the dryer, then proceeded to talk on her phone, flip through magazines, organize her day planner, etc. while my hair FRIED. My poor roots were 2 inches of SNOW WHITE - I looked like I'd died and my hair kept growing, it was awful. I went home and cried to my then-fiance (oh yeah, this was 6 WEEKS before my WEDDING, and I was terrified my hair was going to fall out!) and made an appointment with a different stylist for a color correction 2 days later.
I have wanted to but i didn't want to hurt my hair anymore
I was adding a couple highlights on my own at home and somehow got a blob of bleach mixture on my roots. OOPS! Glad I had a a back-up box of dark blonde dye to do a spot fix afterwards. It blended in surprisingly well when it was all done.
yep....then i tried to pull the color out...then it turned BRIGHT ORANGE...then i paid over a $100 at a salon just to get it looking decent again...never dyed it myself again!
I dye it myself using the professional hair color like you get a beauty supply shop...surprisingly I've never had any problems. So far, at least.
I don't dye my hair...
ummmmm, yea, as I shudder remembering, lets just say yes.....
omg! one of the most horrifying moments of my life. well one of the few moments where i FREAKED OUT! i went to someone for copper highlights..OMG!! when she was done i was flabbergasted, to say the least. then i freaked out and started screaming OMG DYE MY HAIR BACK WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! hahahahah. that totally fried my hair i was on natural deep conditioning regimes with it for months. tsk tsk.
No....I'd be too afraid of damaging it.
The first time I dyed my hair because everyone I knew was lightening their hair color, so i thought why not and went to the store. Instead of having a fresh new look my hair came out looking purple. I started to panic cause i was having a photo taken in the morning. So there I go to the store to get another box, this time it did fix it some. The bad thing is too much dye made my hair brittle and gave me split ends. I haven't dyed my hair since, I also learned to find my own style and not be a sheep.
Yes, only when I had a friend do my hair at home. Usually it comes out horrible and I have to go to a salon to fix it. So I learned my lesson and now only go to a salon when I need a dramatic change.
I went blonde once, well orange/white and it was awful. I died it brown quickly the same day to cover it til I could make it to the salon a week later where they fixed it. Its never been right since but its getting better slowly!
Oh, the first month of beauty school! how smart i thought i was...unfortunately my hair was bleach BLEACH white at the time and I wanted to be red (my natural). but um red + white = PINK. and not cute manic panic pink either! it was salmon and beige. not cute. the next day after school i dyed it blonde again...why didnt i know about fills when this happened??
The first time I dyed my hair, it was for a part in a play. The front looked awesome but the back looked like some on had spilled jam down the back of my head. It was awful! I had to go to a professional the next day to get it fixed.
I tried to lighten my brown hair before a date and it turned orange... I had to call my date and tell him that I wouldn't be ready for another hour and a half, made a run to the drugstore and quickly redyed it!!
Yeah I've made the serious hair mistake myself and had to make the emergency trip to Walgreens. LOL!
I waited 10 days. I don't want to lose all my hair
yeah because my mum did it bad and i had 4 colours in my hair so i had to change it to black again
Oh yes and it didnt destroy it thank god
I've done this many times unfortunately! Once I had dark marroon hair and bleached it blonde but it turned orange and then I dyed it back the same day, and later that week I attempted to go blonde again. I mean, what was I thinking! My hair eventually fried off and I had to get a pixie cut.
I actually dyed it 2x yesterday. Oops! I had pale blonde hair with platinum ends and wanted to go darker for fall (yes, it's August, but I can't wait!) My natural hair color is golden blonde, so I picked up a shade of Medium Blonde, but it turned my ends gray! I made the mistake of not getting a gold shade. I couldn't wait and went to get a dark golden blonde shade, and it turned out gorgeously, and my hair isn't damaged, luckily!!
I only have done that once and it really fried my hair. I tried to turn my dark brown hair blond. Well, it turned bright orange so I had to go to the salon and I ended up with brown hair. Brown fried hair.
the same time that i cried at the salon, i had to have them re-dye my hair that day cause i was miserable. i've always been blonde - since i was a baby - and i tried to change that - but it wasn't me, and i sat there for a few more hours to have it brought back to the right color
