Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts Show Their Love at the "Raising Our Voices" Luncheon

Everyone can feel the love when Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts take on the red carpet together. On May 31, the couple stepped out for The Hollywood Reporter's second annual "Raising Our Voices" Luncheon in LA, which aims to promote diversity and inclusion ahead of Pride Month. At the event, the two looked at one another adoringly, kissing on the carpet and laughing like they were the only people in the room. Nash initially befriended Betts after discovering her music in 2015; the pair eventually fell for each other and tied the knot in August 2020.

"I loved her before I was in love with her because she is such a special human being," Nash told People in 2020, explaining how her relationship with Betts evolved from a friendship into a whirlwind romance. "Sometimes you get so broken by love, you run from it. But I've learned that you should always hold space for magic because it can happen at any time."

Since experiencing this magic themselves, Nash and Betts have shared it proudly at various award show appearances, including the 2022 Oscars and this year's Golden Globes. Now, after almost eight years of knowing each other, their love seems stronger than ever. "The least of my attraction is gender. What I was and am still attracted to is Jessica's soul," Nash said in her 2022 "Essence" cover story, for which she made history alongside Betts as the publication's first-ever same-sex couple cover stars. "She was the most beautiful soul I had ever met in my life. Now that I've experienced it, I can't imagine going through life without it."

Read on to see how the two continue to bring their love to the red carpet.
