Paris Hilton Makes Her Met Gala Debut Alongside Marc Jacobs

Paris Hilton can officially cross off the Met Gala from her bucket list. On Monday, the 42-year-old heiress attended the annual fashion event for the very first time with designer Marc Jacobs as her date. Dressed in all black, Paris struck several poses for the cameras as she made her way up the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps in New York City.

Her mom, Kathy Hilton, was commenting on Vogue's live stream the entire night and even made sure to give fans an update on her daughter's arrival prior to her hitting the carpet. "Paris is in the car on the way," she wrote on the Instagram Live.

This year's Met Gala honored the late Karl Lagerfeld, who died at age 85 in February 2019. A day before attending the event, Paris paid tribute to the Chanel designer on Instagram, writing, "Karl has always been a fashion inspiration to me. Such an icon and innovator. Love that he is the theme of this years #MetGala."

It's been an exciting time for Paris. After tying the knot with venture capitalist and entrepreneur Carter Reum back in November 2021, she and Reum welcomed their first child together via surrogate, a baby boy named Phoenix, this past January. Speaking to POPSUGAR in March, Paris said her son is "so attentive and aware and so curious." She noted, "Ever since he was born, everyone's like, 'Oh, does he sleep all the time?' I'm like, 'Yes. But when he's up, he's just always looking around. He wants to know what's happening.' I can tell that he's going to be a very brilliant baby."
