Everything to Know About Paris Hilton's Baby Boy, Phoenix

Paris Hilton seems to be loving the mom life. On Sept. 5, Hilton shared an adorable carousel of photos of herself and her son Phoenix enjoying a dip in the pool over Labor Day Weekend. "Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend, I know we did πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ πŸ’™," she wrote in the caption.

In January, Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, revealed they'd welcomed Phoenix via surrogate. A month later, Hilton explained the significance of her baby's name on an episode of her "This Is Paris" podcast by reading an excerpt from her memoir, "Paris: The Memoir." "Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more important, it's the bird that flames out and then rises from the ashes to fly again," she said. "I want my son to grow up knowing that disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives, and that this should give us great hope for the future, even when the past is painful and the present seems to have fallen to sh*t . . . It's weird how two ideas that are so different, so completely opposite, can coexist like that. But they do," she added. "Freedom and suffering, joy and sorrow, love and loss."

In March, Hilton told POPSUGAR that she could already "tell that he's going to be a very brilliant baby." In the interview, she also praised Reum, whom she married in 2021. "He is just the best dad," she continued. "He's so sweet and so patient, and [they're] just so cute together. Every night, we lay with Phoenix in bed, and just when I walk in and just see him laying on his chest, my heart melts."

Since then, she's only shared a few snaps of her baby, but every one has been adorable. Ahead, see the sweetest photos of baby Phoenix.

Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum

Phoenix was born via surrogate on Jan. 16, per People. In a February interview with Glamour UK, Hilton explained why she chose surrogacy, revealing that the trauma and abuse she experienced as a student at the Provo Canyon School left her terrified of doctors' appointments. "I'm just so scared. I think, again, leading back to Provo, of even being in a doctor's office, just all of that. The shots, the IVs that they put in," she said. "But I want a family so bad, it's just the physical part of doing it. I'm just so scared . . . childbirth and death are the two things that scare me more than anything in the world."

To preserve their privacy, Phoenix's parents chose to keep the news of his birth completely quiet for the first week of his life. In a February interview with Harper's Bazaar, Hilton shared that she wore a disguise and used a fake name when she checked into the hospital room for her son's birth.

It sounds like having baby Phoenix in her life has been a dream come true for the new mama. "I'm so obsessed with him. My whole heart feels so full," she said during a March appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show." "I feel like my life is so complete now."

Apparently, having her baby has also been healing for her. "Creating my own family and a real life β€” because I've been kind of having to play this character and living this life for so long," she told ABC News of what's helped her recover from her trauma the most, per People. "And I feel like having a family, having children, is what I've always been meant to do."

Also in March, she told POPSUGAR that she often sings him to sleep, though she doesn't favor traditional lullabies. "His favorite lullaby is 'Stars Are Blind,' which I sing to him almost every single night," she said β€” referencing the notorious single she released in 2006.
