I've had Liquid Keratin ($69) on my to-try list for a while now, and its time has come. If you're unfamiliar with this product, the 30-day home treatment starter set should smooth, strengthen, soften, and give you frizz-free manageable hair that lasts up to six weeks . . . according to the box, that is. All of that sounded fantastic, so I was ready to test it out on my chemically relaxed tresses to see if those words rang true.
The first step requires washing hair only with the provided shampoo and spraying the treatment on damp hair afterward. After letting this sit for 30 minutes, hair must be blow-dried and flat-ironed to activate and seal in the treatment with heat. This was a change for me, as I usually commit to adding product and air-drying or blow-drying, so I was expecting my hair to get bigger by the moment. It actually was less poofy than it would have been normally so that's a good sign, right? Instead of taking you through all the notes I took along the way, find my major pros and cons from step one when you read more
I can't say that I've been to a real, official afternoon tea in the garden. I can't say that I've even officially been to an afternoon tea — that is, unless you count my friend's baby shower in Ohio, where it was snowing outside, but we still enjoyed bite-sized treats like mini cucumber sandwiches and clotted cream in the comfort of indoors. Regardless, a garden-side afternoon tea sounds quite nice, don't you think? And that's exactly what inspired Estée Lauder in its Vivid Garden Summer Color Collection for '09.
While there will also be a warm Bronze Goddess Collection for the rising temperatures ahead, the limited-edition Vivid Garden palette focuses on whimsical, floral-inspired vibrant shades such as pinks, purples, teal, aquamarine, and lime. Creamy textures and sheer glazes provide the finishes.

They're no dummies, those Estée Lauder executives. Word on the street is that the cosmetics company is courting actress Freida Pinto to have her be the next face of the brand. Both Estée Lauder and Freida's people declined to comment, but I think a deal would make sense: Freida's a rising star with international appeal, and let's face it, she's gorgeous. Do you think she'd be a good fit?
Bad Hair Day? There's an App For That: Freaking out about how frizzy your hair will be some days? Get the Haircaster iPhone App for 99 cents and style with confidence. Haircaster uses your location to find out the local weather and then analyzes how the humidity and temperature will affect your 'do. A little superficial and silly, maybe, but it could save you a little stress on days when you want to look fab and avoid frizz.

Back in December, it was announced that the design duo of Dolce & Gabbana would be coming out with a long-anticipated makeup line, with a mysterious "Hollywood starlet" to be the spokesmodel. That starlet just happened to turn out to be Scarlett Johansson. And yesterday, the young actress made an appearance at the Dolce & Gabbana Makeup event during Milan Fashion Week, undoubtedly wearing a palette of shades from the collection.
While her makeup was perfection on her flawless skin, I thought her shiny chignon, complete with black floral headband, gave her a sophisticated, youthful look. Is it me, or is her hair looking a little less brown, and a little more cherry red since the last time we saw her? Learn how to re-create Scarlett's chignon when you read more
It's the third month of the year, and you know what that means? Lots of green, green, green — not only because of a certain festive beer-drinking holiday, but because Spring is well, marching around the corner. Put a little pep in your step (and makeup bag) with this month's beauty must haves.
Did you know that mascara is one of the most widely reviewed products on the Product Reviews website? And since this eye-enhancing product seems to be so popular, I'll keep the mascara reviews coming. Recently, Brandysbug tried out Estée Lauder MagnaScopic Mascara ($22) with disappointing results. Here's what she had to say:
"I usually like Estée Lauder's mascaras, but not this one. It is very thick and wet — lashes stick together and have a "spider leg" look nobody wants! I agree [with other reviewers] that it doesn't dry quickly. If I accidentally blink after applying this (even several minutes after applying it), I have a huge smudge either above or below my eye. I like a drier formula that doesn't smudge easily — my favorite is Too Faced Lash Injection!"
