Hello Kitty may be little, but she's full grown. Today, everyone's favorite bow-headed Sanrio cat celebrates her 36th birthday. In homage to one of the most adorable characters ever created, I whipped up this fast and furious Hello Kitty manicure. It may not be the neatest or most complicated piece of nail art, but it is cute, and all you need to do it are a couple toothpicks and white, red, black, and yellow nail polish. Each box is $16, save for the limited-edition deluxe Temptu set ($34). That one includes 24 temporary tattoos, along with a poster "digitally autographed" by Beyoncé. But if you're going to go in for it, make sure you're aware that the faux ink has been scaled down from the designs shown off by Beyoncé herself.
"We don’t need to wash the way we did when we were farmers," Katherine Ashenburg, author of The Dirt on Clean: An Unsanitized History, told the NYT. And since the invention of cars and less labor-intensive machinery, "we have never needed to wash less, and we have never done it more," she added.
While most people will bathe (or at least clean up with a washcloth) after an intense workout, many people prefer not to shower every day. They say it retains the natural oils of the skin and hair to hydrate and protect their bodies. Many are also concerned about the environmental impact of overusing water. There are also those who eschew antiperspirants and deodorants altogether, citing aluminum concerns.
But with special tricks, like using lemon under the arms to quell odors and dry shampoo to keep hair in check, not bathing might not be so bad after all. Would you consider bathing with less frequency?

Seems to be a hot celeb pick."Yep, stars from Sandra Bullock (at the 2010 Golden Globes) to Jennifer Aniston (at The Bounty Hunter premiere) have been spotted wearing the ultraflattering shade. And since it's a soft rosy brown hue, it's flattering on just about everyone. If splurging on this shade isn't for you, do you have any inexpensive alternatives to Beige Felin?
People are paying so much more attention to product ingredients these days. When you're shopping for presents, it can be hard to keep in mind who on your list is going paraben-free, who only uses organic products, and who'd just like something a little more natural. With all the hostess presents and group gifts many of us are expected to give, too, buying gifts that are safely considerate of allergens and ingredient restrictions is also an excellent idea. I've put together 10 products ranging from USDA Organic to vegan and sulfate-free. Check out the green-leaning goodness now.
