Confession time: I was Death from The Sandman for Halloween this year, and there's very little denying that I'm a huge dork, so a "geeky fun or soap?" quiz was inevitable. Won't you put your coolness aside, too, and journey with me to a land of soaps and gadgets that will surprise and delight your inner fangirl? I promise it'll be fun and that there will be Street Fighter. All ready to get down and nerdy?
Given these two facts, then, it's not surprising that this just-released image of the bottle looks like a mash-up of early Egyptian statuettes of the cat-headed goddess Bast and Eartha Kitt's original Catwoman costume. I like the curvilinear quality of the cat's head and the rhinestone eyes, although it's not exactly a step away from the total campiness of her ads. Does this bottle make you want to nose out Purr even more, or are you allergic to this much feline symbolism?
I am not a big fan of roots or the "rooty look." I get the whole ombre effect, but that's for if you're in your early 20s, otherwise it's aging and makes you look unmaintained and too busy to care for yourself. Not a very glamorous look!
Now, if you do color your hair, 4-8 weeks is an appropriate time to wait in between. I'd rather clients have bad roots than try to use at home color or go to someone new for a quick root touch up—those usually lead to hair color catastrophes.

Earlier this year, a Canadian woman, Paddi Anne Moore, was pulled over and asked to take a breathalyzer test. But after four attempts to "blow" into the mechanism, poor Paddi just couldn't do it. Her excuse? While she admitted she had been drinking, recent Botox injections prevented her from being able to pucker up to do the test properly. The officer didn't buy it and charged her anyway.
The charge was recently dismissed by a judge, however, because Moore's doctor was able to provide a written note for her stating that "the physical effects of Botox injections to the upper lip and mouth area is that the patient is unable to purse [her] lips or whistle." What do you think of Moore's defense? Did she get off too easy or is her excuse legit?
- Sir Mix-a-Lot: Mix your favorite scent with a moisturizer and apply. Bonus: the moisturizer will help the scent stay with you longer.
- Adios, odors: Make your own air freshener by diluting a few drops of perfume in water. Mix up in a water bottle and spritz away.
- Scented sheets: To make your clothes smell nice, simply spray an unscented dryer sheet and toss into your dryer.
While most of you said you don't love a man in a mustache, maybe you'll change your mind when you hear the whole Movember movement is for a good cause. The Movember Foundation is a nonprofit that helps raise funds and raise awareness of men's health issues, specifically cancer. Last year, over 255,000 people raised $40 million across the world. Impressed? Check out these photos of guys from Movember's past rocking some pretty impressive 'staches:
