  1. To get the look, celebrity hairstylist Jamal Hammadi, who has worked with stars such as Rooney Mara and Jennifer Lawrence, started by prepping Rachel's hair with Hamadi Shea Spray ($19).
  2. After blowing her strands dry, he used a one-inch barrel curling iron on the ends.
  3. He then pulled a section of hair from the ears to the back of Rachel's head. The top portion was left out, but teased and sprayed with Batiste Dry Shampoo ($8) before being brushed and secured at the back.
  4. To finish, he spritzed her hair with L'Oréal Elnett Hair Spray ($14) to seal the style. "The result was this sexy casual look," said Hammadi.

The Secret to Acing Diane Kruger's Sleek Topknot

Stunning on the red carpet is one of Diane Kruger's best moves, and at the premiere of Inescapable at the Toronto Film Festival, she upped the ante.

Stunning on the red carpet is one of Diane Kruger's best moves, and at the premiere of Inescapable at the Toronto Film Festival, she upped the ante. Her tight, yet somehow wispy topknot was both glamorous and edgy. Celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath, who styled Diane's hair for the premiere, explained that her inspiration was Valentino's Fall 2012 couture show. "We wanted to modernize the look a bit with a soft edge," she said.

To achieve the runway-inspired style, Heath started with a cocktail of Oscar Blandi Volumizing Spray ($19) on Diane's ends and Kérastase Mousse Volumactive ($41) on her roots. After she blew out Diane's hair, she pulled it up into a high ponytail. The trick to this sleek bun is that Heath broke the ponytail into three sections, wrapping them around the base one at a time, securing with pins. She finished with a mist of Frederic Fekkai Sheer Hold Hair Spray ($39). "I chose to leave the hairs around the hairline soft and not slick," she said. "This made the look more red carpet and less runway." And also insanely easy to replicate at home.

Marion Cotillard continually nails beauty looks that are elegant with a surprising twist. And no one knows this better than celebrity stylist Ted Gibson. "I love working with Marion," Gibson said. "She always challenges me to style her hair differently." For the Rust and Bone premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last night, Gibson pulled hairstyle inspiration from Marion's couture Dior gown, opting to style the actress's hair in a '40s-inspired roll.

To achieve the retro wave, Gibson began by prepping the hair with Ted Gibson Build It Blow Drying Agent ($20) with his Hairsheet styling sheets ($15) to add texture. He then blow-dried Marion's strands with a large round brush. Once dry, he pulled her hair over to the top right side, securing it with an elastic. After twisting the hair and pinning it into itself, he finished with a few spritzes of hair spray. The result was a chic look with a nod to yesteryear.
