Windy City ladies might not feel so lucky right about now, what with the cold weather and governor troubles. But on a lighter note, at least Chicagoans have one of the country's newest and most beautiful beauty boutiques. Sonia Roselli Esthétique is a girly-girl's primping paradise.
Longtime makeup artist Roselli offers airbrush makeup application, facials, eyelash extensions, and other beauty treatments. But the real reason to make a trip is the space's gloss bar. You'll choose from 120 color bases and a multitude of flavorings, then work with Roselli to create a custom lip gloss ($20) or lipstick ($35) — now that's giving urban Midwesterners something to smile about.

This ultra cool lip kit literally talks to you. It's like having a Stila makeup artist at your hands — anywhere, anytime. Well, except perhaps for the library.
Thanks to our friends at Sephora, we're giving away this nifty contraption all week long. Stila's Paint Your Pout Red — The Talking Palette features a lip smoother, three shades of red, and a little voice recording that tells you how to apply the shades with ease. Nerdy makeup. Now that's what I'm talking about!

I love how simple and playful Tori Spelling looked at the premiere of Waiting in Beijing. And I really love how easy it is to steal this hairstyle. It's an easy look that works on the red carpet as well it does when worn with jeans and a tee.
Start by working a frizz-fighting product (such as Mario Russo Finishing Lotion) through damp hair, then dry. Follow by creating an extreme side part. Then braid a small section of hair, keeping it fairly tight and close to the hairline. Temporarily secure the end with a clip, then repeat the process on the other side of the part. Tori pulled her braids and the rest of her hair into a simple ponytail at the nape of her neck, but if your hair is longer, you could consider twisting it into a bun.

There's no denying the stained lip trend and CoverGirl's following suite. This weekend, from Dec. 12-14, be one of the first lucky gals to try CoverGirl's new CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. You'll score one when you spend $100 at select Bebe stores.
The stain ($7.29) will be available in stores next month, and it's a fun way to get color without texture. The 10 fruit-scented stains are all water based, so they're lightweight and wear longer than your average gloss or lipstick. Oh, and since they're packaged up just like felt-tipped markers, no liner is needed. Multitaskers — my fave.
