Hi everyone, I have a huge cold and to hide my red nose, I did these eyes today. They're still perfect for school or work even though they are fairly bright, but they're also very, very easy. I used Laura Mercier Foundation Primer ($30), followed by a mixture of Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 140 Soft Beige ($40) and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer ($42). I used Laura Mercier Undercover Pot ($34) in no. 3, which contains the Secret Camouflage and Secret Concealer as concealers, and the Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($20) to set everything.
On my eyes, I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($18). I used 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Graffiti, which I bought in the 24/7 Super Stash ($36). To set the liner, I used Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Graffiti ($18). I set it even though it's a waterproof liner because it's snowing outside and I'm sneezing and have a cold, so I needed some extra security. This also adds to the depth of the color. After this, I used my Bare Escentuals Buxom Lashes mascara and I was done.
Beginning in February, BareMinerals will add five new shades that range from a neutral light tone to a deep golden tone. Available in both matte and original formulas, these shades bring the total number up to 20. Later this year, Benefit plans to provide more options for its Hello, Flawless! powder foundation (see my review). When it comes to finding the perfect shade, things should get a lot easier in 2010.
Summer is a great time for a little shadow play. It's a great time of the year to do some experimenting with bolder color choices and shimmery finishes. I've got you covered on a simple tip for applying shadow, and I've provided the basics of choosing the right shades. So now that you're off to a good start, go forth and check out eleven of the most popularly reviewed shadows for $20 or less on the Product Reviews website. Good times.
Calling all sun goddesses. You know that I'll never advocate baking yourself in the sun, and that's why I'm such a proponent of SPF. 'Tis the season to get your glow on, so let's practice some safe sunning by means of bronzers. I've scoured the Product Reviews section to find the most popularly reviewed bronzing items. Whether your budget is tight or has a little more wiggle room, here are eight top-rated options.
Now, if you grew 300% in an instant, it would be a cause for concern (not to mention Alice in Wonderland flashbacks). Your lashes? A different matter entirely. Many of us can only dream about having thick, voluminous lashes that aren't clumpy, messy or halfway down our cheeks by lunchtime. Enter Buxom Lash Mascara from Bare Escentuals.
Like collagen injections for your lashes, Buxom's hourglass-shaped brush lifts and plumps each lash, leaving you with bodacious fringe and va-va-volume. Unlike collagen treatments, Buxom is painless, needle-free, and formulated lovingly from the mineral-rich ingredients you come to expect from Bare Escentuals to color, protect and moisturize delicate lashes (and it's paraben-free and safe for contact lens wearers).
In celebration of the big debut, the Buxom Burlesque Dancers will be at Sephora Times Square, NYC from 12-6pm this Saturday, February 21st, with makeup artists in tow providing Bare Escentuals' famous "make-unders" and Buxom Lash demos. And here's a special treat for BellaSugar readers! Be one of the first 25 people to leave a comment on this post, and you will receive your very own Buxom Lash Mascara! Want to learn more? You voted, and the results were clear. The Best Concealer of 2008 was Bare Minerals. So, I decided to check out the ever-expanding Product Reviews page to find out more for myself. While the product overall ranks 3.5 out of 5 stars (not too shabby), reader Ehouse had a mediocre opinion on Bare Escentuals BareMinerals Well-Rested For Eyes ($18), calling it just "an OK pale eye shadow." Check out her review below:
"This is a perfectly OK pale vanilla toned eyeshadow, and works fine as a base color. I didn't find it effective as a concealer. Most of us would have to be careful about using a powder like this under the eye anyway, as it tends to settle in the fine lines. It can be mixed with a moisturizer if you're determined to try to use it as a concealer."

I am not surprised by the results of Best Foundation of 2008. Whenever Bare Escentuals Foundation ($25) is mentioned on this site, loads and loads of comments come in raving about the brand. I've got to agree. Its foundations do provide great coverage, last for ages, and come in a variety of shades.
Oh, and since so many of you wrote in that you loved the blendability and color selection of L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup ($9.29), it looks like I'll have to put that on my list of must-try drugstore foundations. As for my pick? I'm going with Prescriptives on this one. With a wide variety of formulations and a custom match, you just can't go wrong with its attention-to-detail kind of service. Want more?
