Welcome back to Back To Basics, the Cliff Notes version of my all-time favorite products. Since we've been talking so much about self tanner and body bronzer this week on beach week, I thought I'd give you a friendly reminder that the first step before applying any of these products is exfoliating. Your skin becomes shinier once you remove all of those unnecessary dull and dead cells, and it will feel softer and smoother too. Here's a look at three of my top picks for body exfoliators.

Lancome Resurface Microdermabrasion Body Polishing Treatment ($46) is a favorite among beauty editors. The small exfoliating crystals and pumice stone in the formula effectively buff away dullness, and they don't scratch your skin making it red and sensitive like a lot of other exfoliators can.

Bliss Love Handler ($36) is the latest at-home endermologie treatment. This caffeine- and amino acid- infused gel has an eight-hour time-release formula that claims to minimize your muffin top and smooth out your saddlebags.

So pack your bikini for the beach and prepare to take strides in the sand with confidence this summer. Bliss studies have shown that in six weeks, 50% of the sample study group noticed less bloating in their tummies, and 50% of the group saw a difference in the tone of their waist and an improvement in the look of their cellulite.

To use, slather on Love Handler and massage it into your skin. Let the cooling mint sensation take over your body—and perhaps your mind, too, if you're convinced that a gel can get rid of your winter weight.

Really, guys, are you buying this? I'm not saying it can't help tone your skin; I'm just saying, it's not lipo in a bottle.

Once thought to be wiped out from the market entirely, this tried-and-true skin care trio has been resurrected from the dead. A few years ago Darphin believed that it would be best to discontinue this old line and make room for the launch of new and improved bath and body products. However, they soon learned the error of their ways.

The masses (French women in particular) became increasingly disgruntled as their favorite products were less and less readily available. After the women resorted shopping on the gray market, and made incessant phone calls to corporate offices, Darphin realized that a re-introduction of their Aromatic Bath & Body Trio was imperative.

Since Darphin wouldn't dream of stopping production again, go for it and try 'em out. You'll be sure to fall in love with what French women have been depending on for years!

What is a lotion that serves as deodorant, leaves no residue, smells like citrus, softens and conditions your underarms and actually helps stop you from sweating? This isn't a riddle, it's an amazing product from Kiehl's called Kiehl's Superbly Efficient Anti-Perspirant & Deodorant Cream! The title alone immediately caught my attention. It's the perfect remedy to those awful and unsightly white marks that are left behind on clothes from solid, roll-on and spray deodorants.

What I especially like is that it's not at all sticky and icky like you might imagine. It's exactly what it says it is: a smooth cream that conditions sensitive skin and fights odor without any grimy or residual after mess.

Also, it claims that it's unscented but it's made with orange, lemon and linseed extracts so there is a slightly refreshing and citrusy scent. Not so bad, right?

One last notable mention is the rounded and raised top of the tube, which has a small hole for monitored distribution. This has been developed for hard to maneuver areas like your underarms and backs of your knees (does anyone else do that)? I've tried and now I'm in love! I can't wait to hear what you think, too.

PINK, the young and fun clothing, loungewear and sleepwear line from Victoria's Secret, has just launched body care! The collection consists of three different bath and body products in three different scents aimed at gals of all ages. These treats smell amazing and they feel great on your skin, too. The scents are Fruity & Bright (a combination of blackberry and vanilla), Clean & Fresh (a citrus and floral mix made of apple and lily) and Sweet & Tart (a tasty and tangy blend of sugar and grapefruit).

I have just learned about a really great line of recently-launched bath and body products called June Jacobs Spa Collection. And to my surprise, June (who has been working in skin care for 20+ years) is also the co-founder of Peter Thomas Roth. Since she has been unable to find any really fantastic and innovative spa quality products in the marketplace, she decided to gather her development team and create the June Jacobs Spa Collection.

The line features more than 70 products, which suit the needs of most skin types and skin conditions. The handmade products incorporate botanicals and plant extracts from around the globe. The goal of the products is to soothe, calm and restore the skin, getting spa-like results in the privacy of your own home! I am very eager to try these goodies. Peter Thomas Roth, a great skincare line, is now making bath and body products. One highlight from this new line is an Anti-Aging Buffing Beads Body Wash ($22). You can't miss this bright orange bottle with its suspension of micro-marbles. The packaging is really cool, but what's inside is even better.

This refreshing gel wash is made from an AHA glycolic acid complex (to exfoliate), salicylic acid (to kill bacteria and smooth out fine lines), white oak bar (to brighten and stimulate new cell growth), lemon (an energizing scent), vitamins A, C, E , B5, and moisturizing beads.

Get excited, because your body wash is about to become so much more than just a cleanser. As the beads break open (this also feels really cool), massage the gel into your skin to absorb all of the nutrients.

After your shower, you'll find that your skin feels softer, smoother, calmer (less red) and looks more radiant than ever before!

So now that you are officially Mr. and Mrs, that probably means that you are living together for the first time (wink, wink). Okay, so even if you were living in sin, you're now sharing everything—including the small amount of space in the bathroom (remember the 50/50 rule, gals)! So although he may not understand the extent to which you primp, a great way to save some room on your side of the medicine cabinet is to fill up his side with products you love, too. This nail polish called Essie Cosmetics Man-e-Cure ($16) is a clear matte polish that looks extremely natural. Guys don't want to look like they've put much effort into their appearance, but oftentimes they do care about looking well groomed, neat and professional.

I was recently introduced to a natural skin care line called Jason Natural. After reading about them and their approach to healing, I stumbled across a great product that seems to be getting rave reviews from its plenitude of users.
